Are EDF Scamming people who switch

    UP ARE now Dead. They kept an admine line open. 0345 5357 7878. I have actualy spoken to them while in administration. They told me how long it was going to take and finaly told me that it had been passed on. That is the WHOLE TRUTH.

    SCAM. EDF. get UP to create their part of the bill. This avoids giving me an account number. They say they have no knoledge of me asnd if that s the case they don't owe me a penny.

    Once Avro went under I went onto their site and downloaded all bills plus did a screen grab of my credit, I also took meter readings. The meter readings for electric are part of my daily routine, gas is weekly because I only use one, sometimes two units per week, I can then challenge any readings if the supplier goes under and they want to say I've used more or less than the readings on my spreadsheet.  
    I have smart meters so I could take photo's of the readings, I was originally on the BG free time tariff so the total is some 2220 kWh more than the ACT 1 reading that is the correct reading to use. I took photo's of the meters on the 23/9/21 and again on 26/9/21 the date the SoLR took over.
    If people took regular readings, monthly, weekly or daily then they would have proof of how much electric and gas they used. Those readings could then identify where excess usage is being used like appliances left in standby mode, temperatures too high on combi boiler, thermostat temperature too high and so on. I turn off everything that isn't in use except the fridge, freezer and router, that means no power is used by anything being put in standby mode even if it only uses one Watt or less per hour, but in reality my monthly usage has dropped from 190 kWh to between 116 and 126 kWh per month and that includes using the washer and dryer once per week.

    No. I am saying as far as they are concerned. I DO NOT EXSIST. This has nothing to do with how long it is going to take. It is never going to hapen. They do not recognise me. owever they have sent me emails telling me about the change of provider. Where did they get my email address from. They are liying.

    So do you think you have a credit balance that you are owed? You hadn't mentioned this above.

    They are not "dead", they are in administration, ranting in caps does not change anything. Being "passed on" does not mean it is finished, once the administrators have finished the data has to be sent to Ofgem for approval, then to EDF to be allocated to individual accounts and finally send out cheques for any customers who are no longer with EDF.

    Again, it is not a scam, putting it in caps does not change that. The administrators bill for the amount under UP, EDF bill for the part under EDF, EDF process billing or refunds bases on the data passed to them via UP's administrators and Ofgem, they are still waiting either to receive that data, or to process it fully in line with Ofgem's guidelines. EDF will not know you had an account until they are passed that data.

    You can either rant and the process will take as long as it is going to, or you can be calm and rational and the process will take as long as it is going to, the choice is up to you.

    Do you honestly beleive they are actually "lying" to you. You think they have an account open and it has some kind of note in it saying "If PaulDesmond contacts please reply saying we have no details of him even though we do"... just think how ridiculous that we be.

    They have no benefit from lying to you, they will want to get your account resolved as quickly as possible as it will just cost them more money in resources each time you contact them about it.

    So instead of getting worked up with crazy made up theories just stay calm and think logically.
