Are EDF Scamming people who switch

I used to be with Utility Point and was supposed to move to EDF. I took the SMART move to jump to a cheep provider Sainsburys. If I had followed Martin Lewis’s advice and do nothing, it would have cast me another £800 a year in energy. My way it only increased £30 however...
I have received emails from EDF telling customers who moved to another 18th September 2021 That I would be billed by UP for my final usage with them AND billed on behalf of EDF for the period up to my new supplier. I did get this bill and the EDF part with it.
I have tried to contact EDF but as I do not have an account with them, they refuse to talk to me. I emailed a complaint to EDF. I got a reply stating
You have switched your supply to a different supplier and we do not have any records of your energy account from Utility Point yet. This email is dated 26th Feb 2022. They are taking the !!!!!! now. Five months after UP went bust they are still waiting for UP to contact them. Is this a SCAM? By getting UP to do their work for them, they avoid giving me an account number and can now claim don’t exist.
They claim I am protected by OfGem. But OfGam doesn’t work like the travel industry ABTA. They are subsidised by the companies who put money into a piggy bank for these occasions. OfGem can’t force EDF to pay someone they claim doesn’t exist.

You will be billed for the usage you had whilst you were with them, winding up company takes a lot of time, especially transferring those customers under the SoLR process. You are protected by Ofgem, you will get any credit you are owed or billed for any usage you owe, it will take time.0 -
Have you logged in through the UP portal to see whether in fact your final bill has been raised by them? If you search on here you’ll find the link in a recent thread.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

As the previous writer says, the final bills are in your UP account and can be downloaded from there. I too left EDF and my total bill is there. I'm now waiting for a refund of the remaining credit, no sign of that yet.0

Yes. They tell me they are still waiting for UP to contact them. That is unreasonable unless you think not.

You are not reading what I write before you post. Please read properly. I have not said that I am going to be billed twice. I have never mentioned anything like this. You ask why I think it is unreasonable. So I shall say this one more time in ENGLISH.
I have been billed by UP, I have received and downloaded my final statement, my statement includes EDF. UP have passed all this on, UP are closed for business, The liquidator has completed his work.
IT IS OVER.
EDF say they are still waiting for UP. That is unreasonable. My final statement shows credit of £97.34
This is plain English. No mention of being billed twice. No mention of being incorrectly billed.
EDF Deny any knowledge of me. Simple plain english.

A few corrections...UP are in administration, not liquidation. The administrators have not yet completed their work. You have no way of knowing what UP have or have not passed to EDF as the administration process is still going on...Those who switch away from the SoLR are going to be at the back of the queue for their credits/bills, and those who switch before even getting an account with the SoLR tend to be at the very back of that queue, so yes, you may still have to wait a while yet...
