Hello all,
I have recently purchased a house and received the keys yesterday. The previous owner informed me they use a company called Octopus Energy, however, I do not know anything about their current price plan and energy use.
I have recently purchased a house and received the keys yesterday. The previous owner informed me they use a company called Octopus Energy, however, I do not know anything about their current price plan and energy use.
Can anyone advise me on what is best for me to do and what I need to do having just moved in. I am aware of the prices increasing in April as I have seen it on the news. I am unsure what the best option for me is to do to get a good price, should I stick with Octopus ( and I’m guessing create my own account with them) because the previous owners used them or should I change to another company? I don’t want to get ripped off because I’m a newby to all of this.
It’s only a small house and there will only be myself and my partner living there.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as like I say, I really don’t have a clue in this area.
Many thanks
Many thanks

Hi,regular question, have a look HERE.0

Hi,when you do get set up remember to provide regular meter readings to provider, at least once a month, to avoid estimated bills. Also, set up a wee spreadsheet to keep an eye on usage and payments.1

You will have to open an account with them as you will have a deemed supply.
At this time, there is unlikely to be any deal under the cap. If you can find one, snap it up as soon as possible (I'll be looking about once a week when my current price deal ends).
MSE has a full market search that may be able to offer you some cashback. I have found some good deals with them over the last few years, saving £100s every year over not switching, so it may be worth registering what you have and getting an e-mail from MSE when you can save.💙💛 💔0
