Received a payment from "Collect Creditor"

I'm very aware of what goes in and out of my bank account so was surprised today when a payment of £550 went into my account from "Collect Creditor" via bank giro credit. I've tried contacting my bank to see if they could give me any more info to help me figure out where this is from but they were very unhelpful & just repeated that it's from collect creditor before ending the chat.
Has anyone received a payment from this name before? I have no idea what it could be - I've never had any debts or paid a debt collector and I only use this bank account for my wage/bills. Is there any way it could be a tax refund?

It's been reported before on an old thread, albeit without any definitive explanation:
