nvidia returns - problem.

I am currently at work so not able to do anything for the next 7-8hrs or so.
In the meantime.... What is my deadline with Amazon as far as returning it to them goes? Bearing in mind I bought it mid October so we're just over a week shy of being 5 months in.
Alderbank - thanks for that. Wasn't aware that the limit was £75. Setting me up for a fall there with that one.
And for the 'buy your own label' - yes its a possibility, but nvidia say they only accept fedex. So if I was to risk say Ups and they say sorry you didn't play by our rules then I'd be taking a £180 gamble.
But now from you guys I learn I should be chasing Amazon so using another label to send to nvidia is hopefully not necessary anyway.
How do you go about getting in touch with Amazon for a return this far in? The only time I've ever done amazon returns is within their 30 days and you click via the order you placed - though we're well past 30 days now.0 -

Let's say I get that same offer & I opt for replacement. Does my warranty start again on that or am I still 5 months in?
In which case I'd be better off with a refund and buying again.
This assumes they offer a refund - they don't have to, they can insist on a repair or replacement (once 30 days from delivery have passed).Jenni x1 -
Alderbank said:JustAnotherSaver says they bought an nvidia device from Amazon which cost £180. They would like to return it to the manufacturer by Fedex. However Fedex website says 'Returning a parcel couldn’t be simpler, just follow the return instructions from the shipper and apply the label to your parcel. Please note that parcels should weigh less than 15kgs, be smaller than 90x60x60cm and have a declared value of less than £75.'
The device therefore cannot be returned by Fedex.
OP has no consumer rights with the manufacturer nvidia. Their consumer rights are solely with Amazon. Amazon have well established procedures for returning faulty purchases which offer a choice of couriers. The last time I returned something to Amazon I had a choice of a local drop shop using a pre-printed Hermes label or if I preferred a pre-printed label for Royal Mail with drop off at my local Post Office.
OP should return the faulty Invidia device to Amazon.
And yes it can be returned via FedEx, that page allows the booking of a pickup.
Lets just hope it was Amazon and not a marketplace seller...for your amazon labelling advice to be correct (and hope Hermes don't lose it otherwise, even though they paid they will argue for proof).0 -

However if I had undertaken a 100mile round trip to the nearest Fedex drop shop and the shopkeeper refused it because it did not have a declared value of less than £75 I would be mildly annoyed.
Quite a few drop shops near me but I was surprised to see that they are clustered round larger towns and cities and there are thousands of rural locations which are more than 50 miles from one.
Nvidia can set what rules they like for their own warranty and presumably they have a special pricing deal worldwide with Fedex. However if the OP is claiming under UK consumer law the retailer cannot place a restriction like this. Has the OP told us yet who they actually purchased it from?0 -

Although I accept they haven't replied to confirm whether or not it was Amazon themselves or a Marketplace seller.JustAnotherSaver said:Mid October 2021 I buy a nvidia shield TV pro 2019 from Amazon.Jenni x0 -

Well that was a relief. I achieved more in 5 minutes with Amazon Live Chat than I did in a week with nVidia. Very quick with the responses on the Live Chat, unlike nVidia last night where I can only assume the guy was chatting to 50 different people at once.Told them I'd like to return for a refund or exchange. If I have a choice then I would prefer it to be a refund.Lucky me - got the offer of a refund.Thinking about it now though, I'll possibly not buy another. I paid £170, it's now £178 and tbh my Firestick 4K does what I need really. The Shield probably is better all round but I hadn't really got in to it with Plex yet, I hadn't played any games on it, so far I was just using it for Netflix and Prime Video. So with the way the world is right now putting the squeeze on the wallet, I think i'll keep my £170 tbh.Anyway, thank you to everyone here who helped. Much appreciated for pointing me in the right direction.2

Your SHIELD was an appreciating asset (not exactly but you should be able to follow what I mean) whereas your £170 isn't.0 -
It's a Shield TV Pro, not a genuine Escort Cosworth in immaculate condition that I bought for peanuts & is now worth £40k.0
