Council has validated his case (how so?) and according to planning portal he is a neighbour to development so he can comment / object whilst we won't get notified at all (as we are "applicant"...).In comparison to this, entering "6" rather than "8" is a trivial error to have slipped through.Whoever filled in the form wouldn't necessarily have 'fetched their own deeds'. Certainly not if it was an agent. The quick and easy way is to do what you did - have a look online. Then if you've got "6" in your head not "8" you pull up the title number for "6" and the muck up is completed.8 -
You could deal with this by viewing the application on the planning portal, then telephoning the architect who has drawn up the plans and tell them of the error. I am sure they will rectify the error asap.3

My anxiety would want to double check the land registry deeds and that my deed number was still in my name and there hadn't been an even bigger mix up. Unlikely, but ...
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

How old is your property? Our home was referred to as plot 'xy' but our house number is 'xz' If its newish could the architect have somehow used old information and got the plot number mixed up?May you find your sister soon Helli.

I've had lots of dealings with our local planning department and my advice is to correspond in writing, because telephone messages rarely reach the appropriate person (again this is our LPA so yours may be better). Email gives you a conversation trail to refer to. After the email you could telephone to check the email has arrived. People do make clerical errors so hopefully that's all this is and will be amended. Our LPA served a breach notice last year with the wrong postcode on the paperwork, we let them know within a couple of weeks and they said they'd reissue the notice, but it took 14 months! Our planning portal allows people to set up an alert whenever a planning application is raised or a comment is placed for a certain address. We have alerts set up for 6 surrounding properties as well as our own because the developer that owns them submits multiple applications or s73 amendments to conditions every year. The LPA writes to surrounding properties but these letters often don't arrive, so the alerts are a good idea.Hopefully your case is just a clerical error somewhere in the process but if you email Planning and the Architect or Agent they should sort it out.3

It won't stop you objecting. We had a planning application submitted for a really ugly building next door and all the neighbours objected. The people who submitted the plans and the person who was selling the land then submitted supporting comments. I complained to the councillor who said anyone can submit support/objection and the planning committee would be aware of what was going on. The fact that so many objected made no difference and the plans were passed.1
