Cant get WiFi calling on Virgin - Samsung S20FE
Hi,
Using the MSE tool I found a great SIM only deal with Virgin. I was on BT and relied heavily on WiFi calling as the mobile signal at home is terrible and the office at work is built like a faraday cage so I can't get ANY signal at work. Despite Virgin boasting WiFi calling as a feature and ensuring my phone (Samsung Galaxy S20FE) being on the supported handset list I can't get WiFi calling working. My SIM arrived yesterday so I popped it straight in. I've left it a day for my number to port over (which has worked ok) but alas no WiFi calling. I've checked the APN configuration, deleted the APN's and set them up again and confirmed that WiFi calling and VoLTE calling are both turned on, but no dice.
WiFi calling worked fine on BT before but I'm getting a sinking feeling I may be stuffed here. Anyone got any secret tips that may solve this or am I going to have to fight to try and cancel my new SIM and switch again?

Looking at some threads on the Virgin Media Community board you might have some luck by raising your case with VMO2 support, others have. Getting wi-fi calling working on a particular handset is usually down to where it was sourced from and therefore what it's original firmware state is.
If you're interested then look at "Settings/About Phone/Software information/Service provider software version" on your phone, Google the string of digits there and it will indicate it's original market.
Don't forget you can cancel without penalty within 14 days of an online purchase.0 -
It could be that it hasn't been enabled on your account in which case you need to contact them.
I had a similar situation when I switched from Three to O2. In that instance a visit to my local store resolved the problem as they could log into my account and get the feature enabled.
