All our local chip shops have that. But as far as I'm aware, while it was intended as OAP special, anyone can order it.soolin said:Our local fish and chip shop have a ‘pensioners’ special at fixed times , maybe I should feel discriminated against as unlike many of my friends I have no occupational pension and cannot therefore term myself a pensioner until I’m 67. One of my acquaintances got a pension at a very young age, early fifties from memory, and would therefore be entitled to the special offer even though she is younger than me.
Else it would be unlawful discrimination. Positive discrimination, but still unlawful.
Although I'd also say it's typically a small or half fish and half a portion of chips. So it's questionable whether they're receiving an advantage.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride3 -
My post was meant in jest, I don’t feel discriminated against at all especially since on 2 days a week that takeaway do gluten free fish and chips which is what I have to have. I pay a little extra for my GF but still don’t feel discriminated against, just grateful they go to the effort of doing it.unholyangel said:

The reverse is also true. I’m sure that many people on here know that we poor females usually have to pay a lot more for having our locks tended to than our menfolk do. Try asking a barber if they can cut our hair for the price they charge menAlderbank said:Some of our local hairdressers won't serve men at all, only women.
Blatant discrimination
I got my hair cut and blow dried recently and was too embarrassed to tell my husband how much it cost.0 -
I can spend a good time in the Wobbleade Emporium whilst the current Mrs. gets her hair done! She drives home!Murphybear said:

I suspect if you want a style like this:Murphybear said:Try asking a barber if they can cut our hair for the price they charge men
