Mobile phone sim roaming (NOT EU)

Options
Hi all,

I brand new on here, and desperately looking for some help.
Myself and my family are heading to Turkey for holidays in April. I really need mobile data while there, (Google maps, the kids hotspotting from my phone etc.). I would like to get a sim only 30 rolling contract with approx. 25 - 50 GB of data for the ten days. My current provider: BT have said they cannot provide this service. I'm also told Vodafone did used to do Turkey, but no longer apparently.
I think £30 ‐ £40 would be OK, but any more than that, and it's going to be too much.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Adam.

  • I've not been to Turkey for some years but if you are only after data then a local sim will almost certainly be cheaper than any UK-bought solution. A quick Google shows 20GB on Voda for 40 TRY (couple of quid) for a Tourist sim.

Having said that, the process for getting your phone registered to use a Turkish sim looks, er, interesting. Anyone been recently and can explain?
  • Thanks lobster.
I'll take a look at getting one of those cards.
    Cheers.
