Put the card away and make a cuppa.  You are on the right track and we'll lead you all the way if you ask for advice here.

To be honest, it's all really confusing if you've never done anything like this before. And I don't usually use MSE that much - there are so many posts, it can get really confusing. I am very grateful for any help given.
By defence form I meant that I had submitted by defence as per the template.
I don't think it's a question of slowing down - I have to do these things when I get a moment between working full time and managing the education and support for my two children with additional needs.
I read on the guidance that I could download and fill out the Directions Questionnaire and thought I'd do that as I have some spare time today. But I'll wait then.
    Thanks
    Julie
I know when that court letter drops you feel like you've been shot! I put it away for a day and calmed myself down before I actioned. And yes it's a quagmire of information that you need to go through and then you doubt yourself, but don't worry yourself into a frenzy; the advice here is fantastic and they are a very helpful bunch. I'm in a similar situtation (as are many others) and have just got my docs ready to go. Don't feel you are alone, shout if you need.

Some observations in case any adjustments needed in future:-

    Posted 4.49pm today:-

"I have done a SAR now. Not sure if it's too late at this point."

    A draft Defence posted 1.3.2022:-

"2.       It is admitted that the Defendant was the registered keeper of the vehicle in question but liability is denied. I do not know if I was the driver of the vehicle on the day in question and no evidence has been provided by the claimant in relation to this information."

The Defence actually sent posted above:-

"2. It is admitted that the Defendant was the driver but not the registered keeper of the vehicle in question and liability is denied."

" The first I heard about this parking charge was a series of debt recovery letters that were sent to me throughout 2021, years after the date the claimant alleges the parking charge was incurred (01/06/2016)."

Who is the RK and in whose name is the claim against. (Unless of course the para 2 of D filed is not correct).

    Hi everyone.
So I now have notice of proposed allocation to the small claims track. I've said I don't have an expert witnesses as I don't! I've also said I'm happy to go to mediation.
No idea what happens now - I guess I sit and wait!

The car is registered in the name of my partner. At the time of this fine, she was using it a lot more than me - so she was the registered keeper from what I understand and the car insurance is in her name and was coming out of her bank account (obviously I was named on it)! The fine is to me. I was possibly driving that day - but it's a place we both have parked at so no one can be sure.
    thanks

I would not agree to mediation; this is explained in the NEWBIE sticky.

If the car is registered to another keeper, against whose name has the court claim been raised?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Mediation is a NO GO because you will be dealing with someone who does not have a clue about the parking scam.
You might as well go and talk to a bod in the pub ?

As you say, you wait and then follow everything said on here.
