Morning all
not much going on today. Worked sainsburys and they’ve now said there’s hardly over time for the next 4 weeks which is fine by me as I get to have some extra sleep they’ve taken on a woman full time who was there one day before me so hopefully I’ll get a contract aswell. I have a teams call for 30 minutes at 6PM about trees, I get £25 Amazon voucher so not bad!

Me again, sainsburys are annoying me a little now. They let my mam go but now they've asked me to work tomorrow on my holiday and Saturday (cover my mams shift) I've said yes because I really need this contract! I'm on temp until April 2nd then she will review it.

Evening allHad a rotten night's sleep again, this time due to my asthma playing upAnd I had to get up earlyish a) because I always do, and b) because I had to work till 2pm.Anyway, work done, came home and decided to tackle Herman, the sourdough starter thing foisted on me by DD2. Made scones, which turned out great, a loaf in the breadmaker, which is still in there till later (this type of starter isn't really intended for bread, and you are not supposed to be able to make sourdough in breadmakers, but I thought I would try it anyway), and a kind of American cake, which is more like a pudding, but OK. There is a lot of it though! I will need to freeze some. I had a little bit of the starter left which I fed and put back in the fridge for next time. I will definitely make the scones again.Washing up of doom, and then made pesto pasta for dinner, using home made pesto from the freezer. Very easy, and there is plenty of cake and scones if OH wants anything else!Dog seems ok today as far as I can tell. I need to try to get a urine sample tomorrow morning (from the dog, that is) so wish me luck with aiming my receptacle about 4 inches from the ground!2

Hello all! It's finally Friday!
So it's been a good week, I've been good with the spends. Yesterday was a no spend day but I did pay off the last bit of one of my credit cards... And today the DD came out too 🙄🙃 so gonna have to claim that back. It said there was 0 due because I've been over paying it but I think I've got one of those automatic amounts rather than minimum payment DD set up 😅
Today I'm working this evening as a bank shift so it's an extra £150 or so next week to pay off the next credit card.
I've put another £11 in my 35 Envelope Challenge so that's at over £60 now 🙌
I'll take lunch out with us but we're off to soft play this morning with friends 😣 then to my parents to drop off the monkey for free childcare ❤️
Anyway I hope you all have a fabulous Friday you're all doing brilliant!Life is too short not to love what you do.4 -
Morning allJust managed to get a small urine sample from the dog, creeping along with an enamel mug 4 inches off the ground hoping I didn't meet anyone I know OH walked a long way behind pretending he didn't know us Need to take it along to the vet's now.My sourdough experiments went well. The scones are brilliant, the cake ok (but I am sure I can improve on that) and the breadmaker loaf is nice too. It was slightly overdone so the crust is a bit dark, but it is a softish bread with a sourdough flavour, though the texture is different from 'proper' sourdough, which I can't be bothered with. If anyone is offered a 'Herman' or 'Friendship cake' starter, you can do quite a lot with it, and it isn't much trouble to look after, just kept in the fridge in a bowl covered with a tea towel, stirred daily, fed on day 1 and day 5 and used on day 10 (or thereabouts, I wasn't too strict about it, forgot to stir it a couple of days and didn't use it till day 11). I saved a little bit of it, fed it, and put it back in the fridge for another time, when I will tweak the bread's baking time and the cake recipe a bit. This afternoon I have to go to work for a few hours, and this morning I need to sort the freezer out to make room for all my baked goodies. The list needs updating too - although I try to remember to update when I take anything out, or put anything in, I invariably forget sometimes. The house also needs cleaning as I have worked more than usual this week, and haven't got to all the chores. Might have to wait for another day though!3
