Flight Cancellation Twice

Hello - I was due to fly on a specific date from Manchester.

The airline contacted contacted me a few weeks before departure explaining the departure flight had been cancelled, offering some alternative options. We agreed to depart a day earlier.

Approx 1 week before departure - I was contacted again explaining that our rearranged flight had also been cancelled, offering some alternative dates, none of which were appropriate and jeopardised our entire trip.

Following a conversation with customer services, by agreement the carrier agreed to move the departure flight back to the original departure date however now departing from Heathrow.

Whilst I was pleased that the trip was “rescued” we have incurred approx £250 additional costs in terms of fuel, car parking, overnight hotel etc.

Is there any scope to recover these costs, or should I just be grateful we got to go on holiday? Thanks.
