£15.25 Broadband 73mb

Options
Just signed up to a Vodaphone Broadband offer through a comparison site.

£19 per month on a 24 month contract.

73mb unlimited usage , fibre to the property, line rental.

£90 Amazon voucher.

Including the voucher in the calculation it works out at £15.25 per month.

Of course this will increase come April like all other providers but the increase is less than £1.80 per month.

I'm happy with that.

Can you actually get 73Mbps to your house? What did they guarantee?
I can't (they'll only guarantee 38.7 down which is only fractionally above what they'll guarantee on the lower tier).

FttP. I get 74mb through BT currently.

The only thing that will change is the router.
  • It's exactly this type of deal that tempted me to switch away from BT 2 years ago. I sincerely hope your swap is completely flawless and it really is just a change of router.

Please let us know how it goes.

FTTP usually manages to get pretty close to the offered speeds - previously we were with BT on 76mbit/s and 99% thats what I got. We are now with Vodaphone, again with FTTP, and we get 94-95mbit/s on a 100mbit/s service.

Both BT and VF only "guarantee" around 50% of the offered speeds

Looking through the emails it looks like I used Broadband Genie.
  • Once you get your new router you can do a speed test to see what you actually get. If you sit next to your router and you have a laptop you can plug a ethernet cable straight into the router from your laptop and google "speed test" to do a test.

This may vary due to the time of the day and network conditions. If you are at the other side of the house from your router it will be slower has the Wi-Fi has to travel through walls, etc to reach your laptop.

It does sound like a really good deal.
