Is my shower broken or am I just being thick?

I think yes to both. There is a tank in the loft that’s full and a big insulated boiler just behind shower that’s heating the house, so it must be full/on.coffeehound said:So it's a mixer shower with an in-built pump to boost pressure from a cold loft cistern and hot water cylinder.
Are the hot and cold tanks filled and valved on?0 -
If you have a (cold) tank in the loft and an insulated (hot) tank (not a boiler), then neither have anything with heating the house. Sounds like you have a system boiler and not a combi.
Any there any sounds that sound like a pump starting up when you press the button on the shower?1 -
The house I've just moved into has 2 showers. One needs switching on and a cord pull - pulled. The other needs switching on at the shower and a switch inside the airing cupboard/immersion.I know this has been covered but perhaps worth mentioning again.Getting a good flow and hot was a whole other ball game that was hinted at by the plumber who was doing my radiator flush. I'm eternally grateful
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Thanks guys. Got it working I’m the end. The trick was to flick the power and reduce flow buttons rapidly because it’s temperamental on the highest setting.2

This question is regarding Galaxy G2000lx (Pumped Shower) - Post 2000 Shower Spares
Just for info. This shower does not like flow setting 7. It can stick there, and cause this start/stop problem. Try some deft fingerwork, pressing the start and flow (minus) buttons, alternately and quickly. If you can get the flow down to 6 or below, the shower will run again. Hooray! Please let us know if it works.2
