Afternoon all. We had a light frost overnight that didn't take long to disappear this morning as we have sunshine and blue skies again. Woohoo.
Not much going on here today so the day is all mine to do as I wish. Dinner is all prepped - roast beef, lots of gravy, mash and sprouts. The WM has nearly finished doing its stuff - a towels load including two new hand ones for the bathroom. I always wash them before using to get rid of any excess fluff. The old ones will be relegated to the kitchen.
I think I'll have an early bath later so I can get into PJs and curl up under a throw for tonight's TV. Last in the series for The Good Karma Hospital and Trigger Point (I wonder what we'll get in their place next week) and the return of Peaky Blinders. A couple of chocolates might make an appearance too.
Is anyone planning to make pancakes on Tuesday? I always used to when the children were little but don't bother now. That said, I did do some last week to use up some LO batter, they were a nice change but I managed to set the smoke alarm off in the process. Doh.I’m not surprised your bunnies etc have sold so quickly Florenceem, you’re doing a grand job of raising funds for the SA. How is Mr F’s leg btw?
I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better today, Scarlet.
I’m so pleased to hear you had a nice birthday Gers, it was always going to be difficult for you so well done. Enjoy your trip to Berlin. I love your reasoning about the knickers! Sounds like a plan.
Ooo, pole dancing dp1! It must be very difficult for your youngest DD with her own health problems and also those of her little one. I’m sure you help as much as you can but you need to look after your own health too when you need to.
How disappointing for you TA that ex-SiL hasn’t shown up to sort your chimney/roof. The weather forecast for our part of the world this week is mostly dry apart from tomorrow - heavy rain - so fingers crossed.
RedRuby - Best wishes to your DM, it’s not the normal order of things, is it, and she will probably always find it hard.
Nan, the seafood platter was much enjoyed, thank you. The only thing that was missing was some fresh crab; since Covid came along I haven’t been going into the city market where I get it from and round here I can only get tinned crab meat - not the same at all.
For those with errant eyebrows - I’ve only ever plucked the odd stray hair from mine (advice from DM was not to start) but they’re getting greyer with time so don’t look too bad. I think the ones that look odd (or should I say striking) are those that stay very dark but the hair has turned white.
Right, the WM has finished so I'll love you and leave you to whatever you're doing. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
I had to chuckle last night, we watched an old Escape to the Chateau. they were restoring an old store cupboard. pickles etc had been made, Angel had cut several rounds of fabric to make pretty covers over the jar lids. Richard walked in and picked up a piece of fabric and complained it was a shirt he liked but Angel didn't, his eyes then espide some other fabric......'that's my underpants' Angel smiled and said, 'well I did wash them first'. Cue gales of laughter fron Arthur and Dorothy.9

YorksLass - Mr F is on day 3 of antibiotics - leg is still very red but not hot as it was. When he had a leg infection before - takes ages for the redness to go.
I am busy knitting lamb creme egg covers today.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
