So going on a price comparison site in April are we saying that I'm not really going to find a lower monthly direct debit from any supplier?
Probably not. And as Gerry1 says, don't look at the monthly direct debit when comparing, look at the unit prices on the tariffs.

You’re realistically not going to find lower averaged unit rates and standing charges from any other supplier, no. You MAY find some willing to offer a lower DD figure to lure you in, but even that’s unlikely right now, plus, all it would do would leave you in debit and seeing an increase later to make up the difference.

As you are on E7 you could potentially find a supplier whose split over day/night rates suits your balance of use better - but that night rate you’re being offered is *probably* the cheapest you’ll find anywhere at the moment -so your best bet is likely to simply push as much usage as possible into the cheap time period.

If you have gas  what are you using E7 for? What are you running on the night rate?
I wonder if you actually might be slightly cheaper on a single rate electricity?

The figures look in the ballpark if not a bit low.
Last year on my fixes my accurate EAC/12 was £81. At the Oct cap rate it is £132 and at Apr cap £208 so a mere doubling is nothing :'(
One of the biggest things to swallow is the total daily charges going from £97 to £269

So this is going to be the same for everybody?
In terms of the rates you're going to, yes. In terms of how big an increase they see this will depend on what contract they were on before. The fact you've been on a fix that is only just ending means you've had cheaper energy than most of us recently but you'll see a bigger percentage increase now as a result. I know it's hard to see this way round, but the big jump is actually a sign you've been saving money recently.
