Lead time for upgrade to fibre

Has anyone upgraded to fibre with BT recently? How long was the wait after placing the order? I know this may be a stupid question as we'll probably see the date when the order is placed. However, I'm going to visit my friend on March 17, and will set up the new router then: so she doesn't want it too many days before that.
For clarity, this is actually a transfer from P O Broadband to BT Home Essentials.

Thats really a "how long is a piece of string" question. It's generally around a couple of weeks but can be significantly longer.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers3

If this is a migration , no home visit needed , the new provider sends you a new router for you to plug in on the appropriate date, then generally it’s 10-14 days, this gives the losing provider time to send you a letter/email saying ‘sorry you are leaving’ and giving the option to cancel the migration.1

Thanks iniltous, I think it would have been around 14 days as you say. Unfortunately, my friend didn't place her order because Shell quoted an early termination charge of £68, and promised a "much better" deal in May. We're going off topic, but I doubt this is correct.
