Kaspersky - trusted or not given what has just happened?

I've been a happy Kaspersky Labs product user for a great many years, and have tended to stick with them because it's a good solid product and they have gone some way to allaying fears as they have surfaced over the years regarding the potential of interference by the Russian state. This has included being transparent about their product and even their code. But somehow, the events of the last few days make me distinctly uncomfortable using products from a company who is still at the end of the day, headquartered in Moscow. So I'm pretty much resigned to ditching it and using another product, but just wondered what everyone else's view is?

I've never used Kaspersky products because of concern about 'interference' with their products.

If you're on Windows 7 or above, ditch it and just stick with Microsoft Security.
Unless you're using something only Kaspersky has, save your money.2 -

Kaspersky is also very good value for money if you buy a fresh license code (only) each year rather than allow it to renew and/or buying retail packs. I paid £14 for a 3 PC license code last year and that's just ridiculously cheap - but the good news is at that price, I don't feel bad ditching it with half a year still to run!0 -

At the moment Curry's does have Norton 360 Deluxe for 3 users for £4.99. That was on hot deals.
I have now taken Kaspersky off all my devices and I had a 2 year deal. Kaspersky should not be trading in the UK.5 -

Norton has similar lab results to Kaspersky, and I got a good key-only deal for five machines for £11 - so that's what I went for in the end. I had half of the year to run on my Kaspersky license but I think I only paid £13 for it anyway, so it just gives a bit of peace of mind. Thanks for the replies folks.0

I'd ditch it; I'm sure doing so will be in a lot of company plans.

Kaspersky is banned in the US from any government contracts which is a permanent ban. Anyone using kaspersky do you really know that there is no connection to Moscow and is your money ending up there. I have now been in contact with 2 MP's who have told me they will raise this with the necessary authorities.
