Never used them myself and am not recommending them but this is a fairly well established firm.

Not accountants work per se. It's a junior clerical exercise to list trades. Match purchases with sales and calculate the net profit/loss made. At accountants charge out rates I think you'd baulk at their charges if they were to agree to undertake the work.MFC52 said:How difficult is this just to request the lead of an accountant that has undertaken this work ?
I appreciate opinions about doing it myself BUT I want an accountant whom I am happy to pay.1 -
You seem to have established yourself that it is very hard to find an accountant willing to take on the work. Nobody here seems to know an accountant who is desperate to take on any business that he can find. Either continue your search, or accept that you are going to have to do the job yourself.
It might help if you were to precisely scope the work. What type of investments did you trade? How long did you hold before selling? Did you make multiple purchases and sales of the same security? Were there any corporate actions? Does HL provide a list of your trades in a consistent format (e.g. buy/sell, number of shares, company, date)? Can you make that into a text file?1 -

2 accountants have finally come forward and have experience. So I am feeling much relieved.
HL indeed provides a list of ALL trades and yes they can be seen in a PDF file and downloaded in (something called) 5csv.0 -
If you have a csv file, you can automate the process for simple trades with no complications. That may be most of them.1

Thanks to everyone my situation is now sorted. I will not be returning to this forum link for the near future.1
