CGT assessment on Hargreaves Lansdown funds

The CGT summary form states:
You must enclose your computations, including details of each gain or loss, as well as filling in the boxes.which is reiterated in the notes page:
You must send us your computations, valuations, specified claim forms and any working sheets with the ‘Capital Gains Tax summary’ pages of your tax return.1 -
Perhaps it is worth adding that the situation is different for dividends and interest, where there is no mandate to provide calculations. There is a worksheet for interest payments, but you do not have to use it. In that case, my next door neighbour, who is a tax adviser, said "just fill in the boxes", which is what I was doing. (If you want to claim relief from withholding tax on directly held foreign shares, you have to enter the dividends on the Foreign pages. Do not forget about Equalisation for open ended funds, and Excess Reportable Income for reporting funds, e.g. ETFs.)1

GeoffTF said:Any accountant will do it. You can do it yourself with a spreadsheet, but you will need to present the calculation nicely in a PDF file for HMRC. If you trade 800 times a year and are not making enough to pay an accountant, I am tempted to say stop digging.
Can you explain further about spreadsheet please ?
What made you think I would NOT pay an accountant ? Of course I would.
Explain what gave you that impression please ?0 -

Can you amplify what you mean ? HL provide trading details so why do I need to log them and what do I do after logging them ?
I will need to report 2022-2023.
My current accountant has done this year's BUT I now need a new accountant who can take over.0 -

Why do you think I wouldn't be making enough money ?
Are you basing it on your experience ?0 -
With so many trades I wonder if you have a clerical problem rather than a CGT one. Wading through so many contract notes would be gruelling work for an office junior let alone a qualified accountant. Maybe they just don't want the work

If you choose not to employ them then it is no wonder they won't offer assistance. It seems very laborious and hence expensive. It isn't really as you just use the data provided and input it into software. Can anyone recommend an accountant able to calculate CGT ?Any accountant can do it.
What software ?
As I keep repeating 15 accountants couldnt do it HENCE the appeal here.0 -

MS Money will do the basic calculations for you and is fine if your affairs are straightforward but it isn't geared to UK legislation so will miss the nuances of pooling across multiple accounts, the 30 day rule, partial sales and so on.
Thanks BUT I am looking for an accountant.0
