Hi . My BT Broadband /landline is increasing to over £40 a month and I would like to reduce it or change supplier. My problem is that I live in a poor reception area in an old house with thick walls and need BTs ‘ booster’ system to get acceptable broadband coverage. What are my options to reduce this payment or move supplier? John, Staffs.

Well the flippant solution is to move house, because older houses were built in a fashion that isn't friendly with modern technology standards, so there is little you can do about that. The other solution could be to do, where possible, wired devices. And make use of wireless access points/extenders that do the same sort of job as BT Booster, except as a one-off purchase.Nothing to stop you switching provider at any time, but it's not going to change the basic fact that you still have walls that are unfriendly to wi-fi signals.0

As for the internet wifi speed, you can either try a fully wireless triband Mesh system from someone like Asus, or Netgear which you can purchase on Amazon, or perhaps a Powerline Mesh, or else a wired home network. All hinges on your internet line speed and personal requirements.0
