Dunno. Is anything going on with the title that you are already aware of? Sale, remortgage, etc? Are you sure you have the alert set up against the correct property (e.g. not the freehold if what you own is the leasehold)?

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.

I imagine OP is signed up to the Land Registrty alert system.
Contact LR and ask for more details?
    Contact BPL?

I would read that alert very carefully, see who it was from & any other info in the alert.

So e.g. if it said"BP Solicitor's bought a copy of the deeds" that's one thing (anyone can in 5 minutes for £3) I wouldn;t worry, but if it said " BP Solicitors placed a charge of £55,673:00 against the property (which is your sole name??) I'd worry a lot..

Who/what sent you that alert & had you set up any mechanism that meant you'd be getting alerts??

I have a Land Registry alert set up on my flat.  I’m not sure how accurate it is.  The only time I got notified of anything was when my neighbours upstairs remortgaged for a new kitchen.

With the stories you hear of dodgy property deals I'd be contacting the solicitors and land registry by phone

Surely the most sensible first step is to check what the application actually is? Which presumably can be done online.
