Sky Broadband - Sudden Price hike!

Options
Hi
Can anyone please help ? Sky have just increased by broadband by £2.50 per month mid contract. Can they just do this whenever they want? I cant leave until Sep 2022 otherwise i would leave or haggle on this. What can i do to stop this as i originally agreed my £25 which is why i signed on with them. Thank you Oliver

If the rise is covered in the contract they do not have to let you leave penalty free

That's what I thought too.  But my email says this:

We hope you'll continue to enjoy our services but if you're not happy with these changes, you can cancel your Sky Broadband and Talk. If you're within your minimum contract period, call us on 03448 244 450 within 30 days of getting this email to avoid early termination charges. Unless you tell us otherwise, your Sky subscriptions will continue as usual.

  • I managed to cancel all my package without termination charges 2 days ago.
I had 7 months left on an 18 month contract which was supposed to end sept 22.
    Hope this helps.

You should be able to cancel if the e-mail says something like this:

Another user posted here also mentioning they were able to cancel by calling up. So it's worth a try.
