Plusnet Mobile Roaming for new customers

Hi All

I'm thinking of jumping from Three SIM only (ending within the week) to Plusnet SIM only (I'd save £36 over the year).  All the blurb on Plusnet's site says the contract provides inclusive Roam Like At Home for EU destinations, but even after speaking to their help line, it's not clear if I would retain that benefit for the duration of a new 12-month contract.  They just say "we have not been made aware of any changes" and that they think I would be able to RLAH for the full 12 month contract.

Does anyone else know whether Plusnet are due to follow EE (their provider) and introduce the £2 a day charge from 3 March 22 for contracts taken out after June 2021?

Thanks in advance.

How important to you is roaming in Europe? Is the £36 saving likely to pay for any roaming you may incur? Afaik it's a rolling 30 day contract so you don't have too much to lose.
Three's PAYG sims don't currently incur the roaming fee per day of their contract sims.

Alternatively, look at companies using O2's network (e.g. giffgaff, Tesco etc.) as they seem a bit more positive about not reinstating roaming charges within Europe in the relatively short term.

Good point.  The Plusnet one is a 12M contract (not rolling 30 day), but that was my thinking about Three's new PAYG - if I read it correctly, it's even better than before, because you would just load up the required top-up for 30 days' data, and you can then use that in way more destinations than previously, e.g. Mexico and Canada  :)  Having read more closely, it's the same destinations as before, but that does at least cover Australia, NZ and the USA.

I am only seeing 30 day rolling ones on their website https://www.plus.net/mobile. Clicking on Sim-Only Deals  takes you to  https://www.plus.net/mobile/sim-only-30-day

Remember that Plusnet prices are going up by CPI+3.9% from 1/3/22.
  • Thanks BUFF, but I was looking at the MSE deal which includes a £25 prepaid Mastercard back: https://www.plus.net/mobile/deals/sim-only-12-month/7/10GB/unl/unl/25/Aff/Feb22?utm_source=Awin&utm_medium=mbl-affiliate&utm_content=10GB&utm_Campaign=12m_10GB_unl_unl_7&mkt_id=con_pn_dg-mob_awin_aff&utm_medium=affiliate-mbl&awc=6535_1645708898_7f84690c9080fe82300a744d540a3c5f

Even with the price increase, it will still work out cheaper than my existing Three plan.  ;)

ID mobile also offer EU roaming and use the Three network. They have rolling monthly contracts so you can always switch to another provider at short notice if they cut the roaming option.
