    Hi Everyone
I have now decided on a Stainless steel sink but would like a brushed/satin SS sink
I have found this after a quick search and would like other ideas and thoughts please as i am not sure on what to look for as the franke ss sinks seem to have rubbish reviews

    Thanks

We had Corian worktops (speckled duck egg colour) with integrated white sinks in our kitchen & utility in previous house. All surfaces, including white, virtually immaculate after 20 years. I'd have Coran again in a heartbeat.

I used to install corian  worktops and sinks 20 yrs ago. One of the best ways of refurbishing the bowls is to use T cut, any fine cutting paste.

My only thought really is that the square plug hole might be more difficult to clean in the corners, than a standard round one, and if you wanted to replace the basket plug thing, then that might also be trickier (round ones are more standard)

We have a smeg stainless steel overmount sink, bought from sinks.co.uk - they don't seem to have any smeg sinks at the moment, but they do have a vast array of franke's - and the delivery was quick.

I didn't even notice the square plug hole
Shows you how much notice I took.
Just liked the clean lines and the satin finish.
Thanks for pointing it out I didn't even think you could get square plug holes.
    Phew

  • We have 3 Franke stainless steel sinks in the house, one only about 8 years old, it replaced a less expensive brand when we revamped the utility room, the other 2 have been here since day 1.........34 years now......and both still look good.

Perhaps we are just careful.......or is it a case of "they do not make them like they used to"?

One  thing I would not do is use one of the reversible sinks that have 2 tap positions, the cover for the alternative taphole is a weak point IMO.
