Hastings cancelled my car insurance?!

I'm with Hastings and have been since November last year, 3 years no claims, clean licence.

Today I rang as I've changed jobs and they've said they can't offer me insurance and the policy will be cancelled. I've changed from education sector to private health care sector.

I'm so confused to why this has happened, going forward I'm scared this will have a impact on future insurance.

The lady on the phone said it wouldn't blacklist me but I'm really concerned that it's going to have to be disclosed when applying for new insurance.

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm so worried.

When you want to make a change that your current insurers will not support it is effectively you cancelling the policy and hence doesn't require to be declared... you could in theory decline the new job and stay in education and so the policy would continue but for most career will be more important than sticking it out on an insurance policy.

This is not a case of a cancellation that needs to be declared, so don't worry about that, just get on with finding a new insurer that can cover you.
