Right-click on it. Do you get a sub-menu with 'Enable', 'Connect', or similar?

If you look along the taskbar (at the bottom of the screen probably) there should be a load of little icons at the end where the clock is. Is there one shaped like a fan?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Have you got a WiFi symbol like this in Network Connections? If not, can you upload a screen print of what you do have? Hold down Alt and press PrtScrn to save the current window to the clipboard, paste into a photo editor, save as a JPG or BMP file.
