if thats the case, sounds like he aint a businessman. the posters and members/guests are his customers. crazy for him to think he is above them.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people with that sort of mindset "I've had success in the past so therefore anything I think of must be good". I certainly won't post on HUKD again except in the whinge and moan threads :p

Please don't. As one of the people who's sat tight and is actually starting to appreciate some of the benefits of the new site, I'd rather those of you who have decided to give up on it would do just that instead of spoiling it for the rest of us.

Similarly for those of you who think that going on the site to vote things cold is a way of "teaching admin a lesson", all you're actually doing (besides being rather childish) is spoiling things not just for the site administrators but for those of us who are actually starting to like the new site (even with it's many imperfections).

If your regular pub changes itself into some sort of trendy new theme pub, you may not like it, you may be upset about it, you may want to protest about it, you may think it is a terrible mistake, you may want to take your custom elsewhere, but please don't go and p!ss in the beer of those who've decided to keep it as their regular.

Why? Both the change itself and the way it has been handled is a complete joke.

The design is awful; my cat could do better and she's brain damaged. "Admin" couldn't give a **** about the members that actually generate his living (the people who buy things through quidco - and lets not forget that HUKD is the main site where quidco is promoted) and quite obviously treats HUKD members with disdain. I really think it's ironic that a site where people are disuaded (by members) from using merchants who have poor customer treats it's own customers so poorly. Remember - HUKD is NOT free - it's running costs are paid for out of your quidco membership fees.

I've also noticed this morning that there are not one, not two but THREE threads being promoted on the front page of HUKD in order to explain to people how to use the site. These include one called "How to get HUKD looking good". !!!!!! is that about? It's just further proof that the design is a complete joke and most people are having serious problems with it. Do we need a guide on how to use MSE? Nope.... Did we need a guide on how to use HUKD before this farce? Nope... Do we need one now with the new HUKD design? Nope - we need three and the fact that "Admin" himself has put them on the front page speaks volumes.

    /end soapbox :rotfl:

As I mentioned I made a few changes to the configuration of my server last night which should mean if downtime happens again the site will come straight back up once the downtime is over rather than me changing manual settings...But the changes may take 24 hours to filter through 100%.

Not sure why it is affecting you if you were online last night but there is nothing much I can do which may help you at the moment apart from 24 hours would be 6pm tonight.

Now the lamer has deleted all my cold/hot votes and made my voting power 1 instead of the 10 it was before.

his mistake gives other smaller sites an opportunity to be popular, there are loads of deals forums around, simple and easy to use.
They call for existing members to get used to it but how are guests who dont visit regularly gonna get the hang of it.

pretty impressed how ukdealshare has got so much posts for a relatively new site, it has recently started right?
  • yes mug, ukdealshare.com started a few days ago and has already got almost 120 members. Everybody is enjoying the fact that they can find stuff easily and the sense of community is great, i just feel a little bit sorry that we had to go elsewhere rather than some adjustments being made for the members on HUKD.
  • Just joined, it seems incredibly easy to post and to find things, just what a messageboard should be, thanks. :T
