SKY Q and Fibre Broadband going up.. can I cancel

Options
Sky have told me my Sky Q is going up from £16 to £17 and Broadband from £20 to £22.50

I believe that's higher than the rate of inflation so am I right in saying I can now cancel my contract early

TV no (you agreed to price increases when you joined), Broadband maybe.  Don't believe Sky do the CPI+3.9% thing yet, so you may be able to leave.

You really need to check the T&C's for your particular contract as they have had many different sets of contract terms depending on when you signed up or renewed.

Bear in mind that a simple upgrade will normally start a new contract with the latest T&C's and as Neil suggest, broadband and TV are two separate contracts and may have different T&C's and with different start and end dates, especially if you added an extra feature or channel set. Quite often services get added, subtracted or special discounts can be negotiated, all of which may make your agreement unique to you and no one else

Dunno about SKY but BT used to have pages and pages of different contract terms and prices (with some having changes even within the same year) which meant you needed to pick the bones out of the ones that applied to you at the date your contract started. s

This above. Frankly BT's bill breakdowns and contracts are often so complicated, it would take an entire legal team the length of the contract just to work out exactly how the whole thing works.

OP, did the e-mail/letter informing you of Sky's price change mention a right to cancel/switch for broadband?
