My first day of doing Prolific surveys. They certainly seem to pay out a lot more than any other website I have used! Nearly at £5 just from today whereas the other survey site I used in the past it took me about a month to do enough to hit that amount! Going to try to do as many as possible over the next few weeks to save money for holiday, I also need to renew my bus pass again in September so will be good to save to take as much money as possible off that. Going to try to get a bus pass that lasts a year as makes a big saving overall. It is just a lot to pay out at once! Hopefully the surveys will help! Then from then any extra I make from them I'll put to my debt.

    Edit: just cashed put £11.41!

No real news for me over last few days! Just inching my way forward to pay day once again. I am thinking I need to revisit my SOA as my budget is getting away from me again. I have over £20 waiting to cash out from prolific but can only cash out twice per week at the moment so just going to wait a bit. My plan up to the end of August is to pay down enough to have reached under 25% of my remaining debt at least to meet that milestone. Any more payments depend on whether my work get their act together to pay me for the extra shifts I have done. Not holding my breath!

    Edit: £22.63 cashed out!

Decided to do envelope challenge for the week. Withdrew 44 + 14 = £58 paid bring total debt down to £1819. That's 75% of my debt paid!!! Final quarter to go!!!!! My holiday fund/ non-EF has taken a bit of a battering but I have around £200 left towards holiday spending money saved and it is pay day on Friday!

Really well done - on the holiday savings and reaching 75% of debt repaid. That's fantastic.

    Thanks so much @savingholmes !

I have been doing some maths..

    Remaining Debt £1819
minus £600 regular monthly payments for September and October
minus £1016 savings for paying off debt
= £203 extra money I need to find to get myself debt free!

I will use prolific money and money from extra shifts initially for holiday spending money then whatever I have left over to chip away at this £200 target!

Then hopefully should be debt free by end of September (I will bring my monthly payment for October forward to payday) unless there are any disasters in the meantime, which is always a possibility!

  • Thank you @beanielou and @savingholmes for your positive words as always!

£17.91 cashed out from prolific today just waiting for that to hit my account, making nearly £52 in just over 1 week isn't bad at all but haven't actually been able to do any surveys today so maybe a dry spell coming up with them. More importantly it is payday tomorrow! I have plans to transfer my holiday money over to my boyfriend for safe keeping then keeping some in savings and starting a new non-EF. I want to start trying to make a bit of a buffer with savings for the winter as really don't know what things are going to start costing so I might actually hold off paying the large lump sum to my debt? If I did though it would free up an extra £300 per month, which could go straight to savings? Not sure at all but I think I will decide end of September!

Not a huge amount else happening here. Very busy week at work. My plan for the weekend is seeing family and starting a deep clean of the house for putting it on the market. Wish me luck

Best of luck with the deep clean. My least favourite task. Should be well worth it though.
