My fixed year ended on 26 March 2022 and they said they had moved me onto a Flexible tariff at the annual amount of £1732 then it said my new tariff options were 10 months fixed at £346 and £4159 annually or Loyal 10 months fixed at £334, although taking the loyalty fixed for 10 months would reduce it to £4014. It says that, if fixed, the unit rates and standing charge are for 10 months.MWT said:ailey said:My charges with Octopus have gone up 260%. Just shocking! Annual rise from £1732 to £4159 so a rise of £2426. My husband is on blood thinning medication so feels the cold always but we have to limit the amount of heat we use. So awful how high the prices have gone with all the energy companies!
That sounds like you have moved onto an expensive fixed rate instead of the cheaper variable rate tariff? Can you tell us which tariff you are on and when you moved onto it?Do take care when looking at fixed tariffs, it is not 'fixed at £346' it is a tariff with a fixed kWh and standing charge rate which they estimate based on previous use will cost you £346 a month. If you use more or less than they have estimated that monthly cost can go up or down.Right now you are probably better staying on the variable tariff, but do take the time to work out what you believe your annual use will be and use that to calculate your real costs over the next year when comparing tariffs.

Buy him a heated blanked that he can wrap himself in. Far cheaper than having the heating on, maybe invest in two, one eachailey said:My charges with Octopus have gone up 260%. Just shocking!
