Are new phone contracts subject to April price increase?

Need a new phone contract or I may just buy a phone outright and sim contract separately beginning of April I would like to avoid the price hikes depending of the deal I found. But - a. If I went for a contact end of March could the price increase in April or would it not increase until next April 2023 mid contract? Or
b. Would I just be better waiting until the start of April as I’m thinking I’ll be able to get a good advertised offer anyway? Either way I’ll be opting for a new customer deal.

I wondered the same thing. I guess if you can wait until April itself (after the stated date of the provider's price increase/hike), then by waiting till just after the date, you assure yourself of avoiding the 2022 hike. Depending on the contract length (12 months, 18 months, 24 months), then they could theoretically still hike next year (2023), just by a different amount.
