  • Thank you for starting it up again @elsiepac

I'm in again. I did think about reducing the budget, but then remembered I have dented my stocks pretty well and with need to buy a load of household stuff this month, so I will stay as I am on £180.

Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

    May grocery challenge £45.61/£120
  • Hi Elsiepac

Its been a while since I did this challenge but what with having some unexpected major spends from my savings for repairs and maintenance to the property I need to try and put some of that money back in the pot.

I've kinda lost track of what my grocery spends are but thought I would start off with a monthly target of

    £80.00 from 20th Feb - 20th Mar

    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £103.53

okay i need to get back on this wagon after a few years of being overwhelmed by the bigger picture.

i have no idea how much we're spending right now, and i keep convincing myself its not much but it could be way too much...

I'm going to aim for £200

all food for two adults and two sprogs not including whats in the house currently or pet food as we don't buy that in the supermarket

starting with a £88.70 order from asda due on thursday
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.

Going to try and recoup over next few months, so can I go for £160 for March. will carry on with YS and going to do food cupboard and freezer stock check this week, and attempt some meal planning in March.

    Please put me in for

£123 for March (£20 below my Feb spend)

My month runs from 25th Feb to 24th March. (This is for 1 active adult)
  • Thank you for our shiny new thread, @elsiepac! I'll try for a cautious reduction this month as I seem to have done quite well in February; feeding, washing & cleaning supplies for 5-6 adults (5 for 4 days & nights of the week, 6 for 3) plus visiting friends & family at weekends, but not counting pet & livestock food, I'll aim for

    £450

please! Whatever I end up with "left over" in February, I will put into a "bulk" fund to buy flour from the mill and oats from my favourite supplier, so these will be accounted for separately until that's all used up.
