Sorry if in the wrong place, please move if it is.
I reserved this item http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/939229 over the phone from my curry's store. It was advertised on the net at £29.99 and the guy on the phone said I could definately reserve it and get it.
Turned up at the store only to be told that it can't be sold seperately. The manager heard the conversation I had with the guy who reserved it for me and he agreed he did say he'd definately have it for me for £29.99, but they can't grant it because Microsoft will fine them if they do.
The thing is, I have printed out the screen I had stating it was for sale for £29.99. Is there any way I can still get this? I'm lost...

They dont have to honour a offer legally, and yes it is the wrong place0

I forgot the exact terminology now and basically a shop whether online or not invited you to treat, if you accept the offer, and they do and money changes hands , only then can you have a legal contract and if they decide to change there minds you may have a case of breach of contract and or loss of a bargain0

try reserving one at a different store. My local store manager pointed out yesterday that this was not to be sold separately but sold me two anyway cos he was a nice chap!
You might have more luck at another store.0 -
yea they have this on offer in my local currys digital the box has a sticker saying 29.99 on it nothing saying 29.99 when xbox360 purchased but as someone said youv met mr jobsworth the manager not a very nice man,a manager that thinks he actually does own currys lol try a diff store there are some good managers in currys u just gotta find em last year i went into my currys and looked at the psp offers the manager showed me the offers and i said il order online cos iv got a 10percent code he said dont bother il give you the 10 percent and he gave me a better selection of games that wernt in the offer so good managers do exist have faith......0

Basically, as someone pointed out above, they don't have to honour the price. It only becomes binding at the point where the store accept your offer i.e. point of purchase.0
