Haggling new price outwith contract without leaving.

Has anyone managed to get a decent price from BT without leaving? On one hand don't want to leave as never had any problems but on the other can save about £7.50(ish) per month by going to Vodafone or Now TV. Cannot have any downtime either due family members still working from home, so changeover (if I leave) would have to be smoother than Michael Jackson singing smooth criminal.
Thanks

BT are not well known to offer existing customers the best price sadly. Are you looking at FTTC, or FTTP broadband? The switching process is meant to be smooth, or so they say.0 -

FTTC. I've seen before that they offer better deals once they get conformation you're leaving but don't really do much until that happens but with everything happening in the world just now, they might not do it anymore.

I get what you mean. If it's FTTC, then Vodafone do seem to have the lower price at the moment. What you could do if you're worried about potential downtime, is to take up an Unlimited Data 4G SIM from Vodafone, or anyone else who has a good mobile signal in your area on a 30 day contract. You can pop that into a Mobile Hotspot (they usually give that for free if you take a longer contract) and it can give you mobile broadband with 4G internet speeds (usually varies between 20-80Mbps). That way you can connect to that even if there is no landline broadband, or power. In fact, it might even work out a better option until FTTP comes to your area.0
