The rate for day is 27p, and night is 17p.
we do have flat 15 written above the meter, but I’ve begun thinking if there has been a cross meter issue.
As there is no decimal point in the readings, it might be tricky to carry out the usual test I’ve read about. I’ve read something about the red light flashing meaning that electricity is being used/not used? Does anyone know if that would be useful to take a look at?

You have a 5-terminal meter which suggests that the flat once had night storage heaters, basically a big box of bricks.  If you could pick up one of your heaters then it isn't a NSH.    Post a photo, preferably stating the make and model and someone will be able to help.
Similarly, if the meter shows day rate and you can switch on a heater when it's cold and it warms up, then it's not a NSH.
If you don't have NSHs it'd bad news and you should consider moving as soon as your contract allows.
In the meantime, all you can do is to limit your usage (lower the temperature setting and times of use) and to make sure you are on the Standard Variable Tariff (capped|) on single rate.

71772 - 69111 = 2661 units in 3 months for a electrically heated flat with on peak heating is not high.  The day night split is not very high at 15% and E7 is probably not the best tariff for you - typically the split is 30-35%

When others talk about 10KWh then ask them "is the heating by gas?"

Have you taken two reads around lunchtime to confirm the day rate is the day rate on your bill & that the reads are not Transposed ?

    Hey again,
we tried to do some digging for info on the heaters. The closest match we can find looks wise is the Creda EPH500.
not 100% sure if that’s correct though, so we emailed the property manager to advise on the model too.
If it is the correct model then these heaters range from 0.5kw to 2kw in terms of rating. Again, we’re very fresh to this sort of thing so not too sure on what this means
  • Hi,
    is this it,

As many others have said, 30kWh/day is quite a normal consumption level for an electrically-heated flat.
    30kWh/day at 27p/kWh is £8.10/day, plus say 25p/day standing charge. £250/month.

Panel heaters, then. One of the most expensive ways to heat a property.
What is the notice period on your tenancy? Can you move somewhere with gas heating, or at least storage heaters? Although once we get into spring and you don't need heating, you'll be OK until next winter.

    Bad news.
Do the Meter Sanity Test as previously advised, switch to a single rate capped tariff if you're not already on it, then move as soon as you can to a property with gas central heating (or at least High Heat Retention Night Storage Heaters, e.g. Dimplex Quantum).

Even if 30kwh is normal per day for a electric only property, it still seems like a strange sort of thing to pay £300-400 a month for just 1 bill?
Our friends in flats all have electric only as well.
We’ve asked people in big houses and households what they pay and the only times it came close was with someone in a 5 bed house, 7 person household 🤣
The property itself has an EPC 77 C, potential to be 82B. The yearly energy cost estimated for this property is £464.
Not sure if this helps or has any meaning in this type of situation
