Anyone ever had book entry shares held in the US, how do you go about selling, cashing and investing

I have book entry shares held with the AST Financial in the US (a w8-ben form completed), purchase via ex company share options. 

New to this, so thinking of opening UK trading platform account with a  S&SISA

Basically, Im looking to sell and cash out let's say 40k(20k on each side of this April) but then also sell some to reinvest to start diversify investment. So, I'm trying to look into the best options for doing this utilising any tax free incentives but bearing in mind that currently all shares (in USD) are parked in the US with ASTfinancial.

I'd be grateful to find people's opinions on this.

Not really sure what you’re asking, but sounds like you need to open a S&S ISA with a platform, sell your US shares and transfer the proceeds to your newly opened S&S ISA?

There might be tax to pay on your share sale, depending on your gain.
