Strong wind and light rain. Power off for a short time, back on now but not sure for how long so decided to cook chicken thighs now so I have something to eat later.
I will definitely stay in today, plenty to read and knit. Hope everyone is OK10 -
Very windy and getting worse. We have acquired a large trampoline that has blown over a hedge at the side of the house. Thank goodness the garden gate stopped it or it would've blown onto our car.
Will be staying indoors and hoping for no more gifts in the garden.
Stay safe 🌻6 -
Afternoon all. We've been downgraded from Amber to Yellow but it's still pretty wild out there. It was raining when we went to bed last night, raining this morning when we got up but no wind, then stopped at lunchtime and the sun put in an appearance. The sun disappeared after about half an hour and the rain started again with strong blustery winds. How much more water can there be up there? At least we haven't had snow so that's something to be thankful for.
Usual Friday admin work done along with a meal plan for next week and that's already changed - twice! That's because we're eating from stores and trying not to do any more shopping for the rest of the month. We shouldn't need anything, not even milk, as I know there's two cartons of LL milk in the pantry and one is getting near to its BB date so I'll use that up first instead of buying more fresh. I'm on track for being under-budget on groceries this month and should have £55-£60 left in the kitty. That will be squirrelled away to be put towards next winter's gas/electric.
Tea tonight is a couple of cod fillets and mushy peas from the freezer. I'll do the fish in batter, fish shop style, and any LO batter can be thinned down to make pancakes for tomorrow's lunch, filled with "something". Probably mushrooms with grated cheese.
Nothing much else to report so I'll sign off and hope everyone manages to stay safe and well with minimal disruption/damage. Come on Eunice, you've outstayed your welcome!Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Neighbour's back fence is down and side fence which belongs to another neighbour has gone - been very windy here.
Dd was on a plane flying into Heathrow today and had an aborted landing . She said it was petrifying.
Made 10 of the felt eggs containing chocs - time for a new project.
Easy meal tonight - opening tins and using up eggs.
