Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark,- blustery this morning and rain forecast again today though.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish and rice. Not sure what we'll be eating tonight. I'll be going food shopping first thing. "To do" list is a big one so I'll be busy.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Blowing a gale out there wind and rain are lashing down, OH has been cancelled for work which I think is sensible, he will stay here with the dogs, my work have not cancelledwhich is typical and very dangerous in my opinion, I think a lot of the clients will chose to stay off today though as its quite dangerous out there.
I think we are having a takeaway for dinner tonight which will be a lovely treat and save me having to cook, the fish finger SW was delicious last night.
DW to empty this morning but I dont think I will put a wash on as I think a power cut is likely, we have logs and lots of candles so we should be ok.
Hope everyone is ok,please take care and stay safe xxx17 -
Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC. Hope you get done what you have to do.The weather has been terrible, on Wednesday evening the wind was frightening, not that I was out, but the noise of it.There's snow now. Hope Izzy is ok in the Durham Dales, it'll be worse there. We are in an urban area, and our little town is sheltered.I'm going to nip to the supermarket, should have gone yesterday after Dgs went home, but I was tired and the wind was bad then as well.I've inventoried the freezer, yet again, and am determined to keep up with it. I've developed a world beating (!) new method.Nowt else happening, friends are supposed to be coming round tonight, but I'm fully expecting cancellations, I would rather they didn't come when the weather is this bad.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, stay safe folks.16

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. As of now we just have rain (we were expecting snow) and the wind is strengthening as I speak but we are not forecast to get the gales quite as bad as those of you down south, I hope you all keep safe and manage to avoid any damage. Yesterday morning, after Wednesday's storm, I took my grabbing stick out into the front garden and picked up a sheet of polythene, a large milk bottle and 4 small water bottles. There are still choc wrappers, crisp bags, etc under the hedge and bushes but they can wait for a better day! Obviously a few recycling bins in the vicinity came to grief.
So it's Friday Tidy day with a dust and vac all around, up and down, with pit stops to rest my legs along the way. I'm sure it's Friday every other day!
Have the safest day you can folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care whatever you are up to. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"17 -
Good morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.
Windy and rainy here in SE London but the worst is yet to come I believe. We are both wfh today and DS2 is working 11-8, but luckily it’s only a 5 minute walk to the High Street.
Lots of LO bolognaise pasta from last night, so DH and DD will have that for lunch. I got a TGTG bag from Morries last night – have frozen most of it but some sandwich filler and cheese/onion pastry rolls in the fridge for DS2 to snaffle.
Lovely photos from the afternoon tea Florence
Hope everyone stays safe and has minimal damage/disruption today.

Morning
Calm before the storm here in fact its lovely blue sky apparently it won’t hit us till later this afternoon
Yesterday delivery arrived as ordered. Treated myself to some daffs as well always cheers me up to have flowers to look at. Poor driver was frozen to the bone.
Last round of wind managed to wreck my gas meter door its currently taped up with parcel tape for a temporary solution till I can find someone to fit a new one which is a struggle so far.
Donner wraps last night with chilli jam and salad. Made some pickled red onion and cucumber to go with it with some on the turn salad stuff. Steak pie and chips tonight so an easy heat up and scoff.
Ruby that’s awful seems the general advice is to stay at home unless absolutely essential shame they cant follow that. Try to stay safe x
Have a good day if you can and hope no damage happens

Good morning everyone, I've just filled a thermos with boiling water so if the power goes I shall still have my cuppa's. Candles are around, and just waitng for the storm to hit.I'm quite sheltered where I live but no doubt the fences will be battered I usually lose one in high winds. I'm staying indoors and being safe and warm and will watch the dustbins no doubt fly down the road outside. I have plenty of books to read so a book a cuppaa and a couple of ginger nuts and I'm a happy old lady
Please do stay as safe as you can, and staying indoors in the warm seems to be the best thing.I have lots of throws and a duvet or two so if the heating goes off I shan't be cold. But we will all get through it no doubtand maybe it will blow some nice spring weather our way.
Take care chums I just looked out of the window and its errily still at the moment I'm in the Medway area of north Kent

Morning everyone
Lovely and bright here at the minute - the wind is meant to hit us about lunchtime - not forecast to be anywhere near as bad as Storm Arwen up here in Northumberland.
Hope everyone further south is ok.
DD and little one were watching a show last night when it was announced that everything would be closed at Butlins today and they were advising everyone to leave early if they could.
She managed to get booked in to the Travelodge at Scotch Corner, packed the car up and left at about 10pm. She texted to say they were in bed just after 1am. Just about 2 hours left to drive home today. Little one wouldn't know where she was when she woke this morning!
Florenceem your afternoon tea looks delicious.
Stay warm and safe today x

Morning all wet at the moment the wind is picking up due with us at 10am and set to last till 5pm praying the extension roof bits hold as they were only temporary not too worried about the scaffolding but we have got any loose bits down and laid them on the grass we are on the outer edge of London so hopefully it won't be as bad as they say. DH is working from home and getting on my nerves already . Friday clean as usual and will get a towel wash on
Hugs to all our poorlies and those looking after a loved one stay safe warm and dry xx

Morning folks. After a very beautiful and cold day the night was quiet and calm and now the snow is falling. It's very gentle and light so far, perhaps it may stay that way. I know it'll be much worse where the red warning is.After faffing about with my tech stuff for not to long I got all my gadgets reconnected and working again. It's not difficult, just a wee PITA. My meal was the last portion of venison casserole, roasted mixed peppers and piles of sprouts, cauliflower and broccoli. I find broccoli fairly tasteless but eat it anyway as it's good for me!My weekly call from Australia has already happened, lots of news exchanged and lots of laughing too.No idea what today will bring, planning to keep safe from the weather. My fridge is almost empty but there's plenty in the freezer to pull out and more than enough fresh veggies. I'll be cosy and fed.Hugs now to our poorlies, keep warm. Happy Thursday to all.13
