EDF/ ZOG charged twice for overlapping units

I have just had a letter from EDF to say that they cannot apply a single tariff to any customer bills. Where a DD has been set up, EDF will apply an adjustment for the tariff period prior to the DD being set up.
Quote: As of today (17th February), we still haven't received the copy of the final Zog Energy bill. Unquote0 -
I do hope they are taking on extra staff in their complaints dept because they are going to get busy soon !

As has been said Zog only had 11,700 customers - why is Edf finding things so difficult ? Their IT continues to have mixed messages - last week we had the rates for April 1st - and that is to be followed up by correspondence.
We await the bill for Dec 5 to 15th - which some think will be next month.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Update...I spoke to EDF chat yesterday about the overlap in units. They asked me if I have Zogs final bill and I said I did. I also said I thought they had Zogs final bill as well. The rep then checked my account and a few minutes later stated the bill will be re-issued with the overlap removed. Asked when I can expect the new bill and was told "up to 28 days." The chat was a relatively smooth process. Just have to hope they will do what they have stated.0

My ‘battle’ with EDF continues. They have applied a single adjustment to what they say is my Final Bill which covers the Zog final credit and the DD tariff adjustment. For reasons best known to EDF they combine this into a single line entry and then apply VAT. I accept that the DD reduction needs to have VAT applied to it but not the Final Bill from Zog save for the fact that as EDF is paying out the credits it has to account for VAT. All would be well if the VAT adjusted amount was correct but sadly it isn’t.EDF is adamant that its billing is correct. In an attempt to resolve what is a simple billing error, I have sent EDF a ‘ billing for dummies’ spreadsheet which shows two methods of calculation. One uses their split tariff with an adjustment and, the other, a simple single DD tariff based on all the days and all the units used during the billing period. The charges with VAT are the same. A simple deduction of the Zog Final Bill credit gives an amount due which is about a £ less than EDF’s Final Bill.Despite saying that the bill has been reviewed at a senior level, it is clear that nobody could be bothered to get out a calculator. Even EDF doesn’t understand its own statements.3

Same thing happened to me. After countless calls managed to get a bill from 15/12 which used zogs final reading on 4/12 as the starting read. Not ideal as the true read on 15/12 would have been different from 4/12 but at least it wasnt the ridiculously overlapping read they used which was about 200 units I had already paid for. Just want to get away from these clowns asap, luckily didn’t change to direct debit and stuck to cash/cheque, the promise of lower rates backdated also appear to have been broken according to other threads0

I don't think any promises have been broken it is just that things seem to be taking longer than people want / expect.Poundwize said:Same thing happened to me. I don't think that it is unreasonable to expect that when a bill, du for payment on receipt is issued as a result of moving to direct debit contract that the refund promised to reduce the initial tariff should be applied to that bill. The flags are all set: Zog customer now moved to DD tariff calculate refund due and credit on same bill.The_Green_Hornet said:

In this case, and despite having paid £186 to the account, the demand on the first bill involves a charge to my bank account of £32 on 7 March. At that point the gas account is still £136 in credit I think I have already paid the sum due (and more). I am not considering the sum still outstanding from ZOG I m becoming disturbed by EDF charging practices.0
