EDF/ ZOG charged twice for overlapping units
I wonder if anyone has a link/info that I can refer to for the correct procedure when the new solr charges for units already charged by previous supplier
Today I have rec'd my 1st bill from EDF. EDF are charging me for units that have already been charged on my final Zog bill. Is that correct? I have tried a search online on the subject but cant find what I'm looking for. Any info appreciated

This is one for EDF to resolve with Zog’s administrator.1

As the gaining supplier (even through SOLR) EDF are responsible for the previous close and their opening read. Pass it back to them and ask for the bill to be reissued.

I thought the gaining supplier agreed with the losing suppliers final reading so that no overlap can occur. But I can't see anything online that gives guidance on who does what/who has responsibility.0

@rags58 The only invoices I have are a final from Zog to Dec 4th and an initial EDF from Dec 15th. Are you saying that the opening read on the EDF is less than the closing from Zog ? As far as I am aware EDF has not raised invoices for Dec 5 - 15
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
There is no agreement as such between the suppliers. On a normal switch, the gaining supplier’s data collector uses historical data (along with any customer meter that was provided) to make an opening/closing reading determination which both suppliers are required to use. This reading is then passed by an industry data flow to both suppliers.rags58 said:I thought the gaining supplier agreed with the losing suppliers final reading so that no overlap can occur. Zog issued my final bill on 6/1/22. The bill period was up to 4/12/21. EDF have billed me from the 15/12/21 - 16/2/22 but their bill includes units that have already been charged on the final Zog bill.
EDF state my opening read was given by me, but the 1st reading I gave EDF was on the 17/12/21 when I was at stage 3. That reading did not clash with Zogs final reading, the opening read that EDF have used was not supplied by me.0 -
What is the final reading on the Zog bill & what is the opening reading on the EDF bill?rags58 said:Zog issued my final bill on 6/1/22. The bill period was up to 4/12/21. EDF has yet to apply the charges to customer accounts for the period from its appointment as SoLR through until Change of Supplier (Gain) - 5th to 24th December. SoLRs are permitted to make this charge despite the fact they were not your legal supplier. All you can do at this stage is to advise EDF of all the facts.rags58 said:Zog issued my final bill on 6/1/22. The bill period was up to 4/12/21. ok...many thanks for all your comments and advice. I accept that from the 5/12/21- 14/12/21 that I have not been charged a standing charge and that may have some bearing in how the bill has been worked out.
I was already on chat this morning over the wrong unit/standing charge being applied ie they charged "Welcome standard" when it should have been "Welcome standard direct debit" as I had set-up the d/debit before the 31/1/22 and that was a bit of a nightmare. Feel annoyed with myself that I did not notice the overlapping units until later in the day as I would have enquired about it at the same time.
Curiousgirl1.... the overlap is 15 units .....EDF opening 42075 ...... Zog closing 420900 -
That seems to be the case for everyone, if it's any consolation. EDF are a bit shambolic to say the least and it's one of the things they still need to sort out. Can't see why it's taking them so long given that poor old Zog had only 11,700 customers and issued its final bills very promptly.rags58 said:
