NS&I Premium Bond (Extra payout?)

Hi. I religiously track my premium bond winnings following the draw results (on 2nd of each month), ensuring they hit my bank (usually on the 7th of each month).
This month I won a few on 2nd, and saw each paid out as usual on 7th.

However, today (17th), I see an additional payment from NS&I (£25, so just like another win)... but one I cannot attribute to the Feb draw.
All the past draw results are fully accounted for, so this seems like an error to me.

NS&I have paid me £25 extra, on the 17th of the month.
Has anyone else received a pay out they aren't expecting, or can explain why this might happen?

I have logged in, double checked the results and the payments received on the 7th. They all tally. I have checked my online messages. nothing.
I'm not complaining - but would like to understand it if possible.

Else, I'll call NS&I.

Do you look after any children's Premium Bonds ?
  • I've read in the past if they find a winning bond isn't eligible then it's drawn again so maybe a late win for you?

I do indeed, but these also fall under the category of "religiously tracked"...
    This month, I won 4 x £25, my child 3 x £25. On 7th of the month, I received payments for 7 x £25, so all accounted for.
Then on 17th (and I've held bonds for 5+ years, and have NEVER received a payment so late into the month as this), I received a further credit of £25 which isn't listed on either mine or my childs 'Winnings' section of the website.

This sounds more plausible - but it seems odd that they don't update the 'Winnings' section on the app or the website. Perhaps there is a delay. I'll check it again next week, else, reach out to them.

    Thanks. SC.

I'm pretty sure when I read that it was also mentioned it didn't show in their winnings either.
But well done on the win, I'm 3 months without a prize now

@Sillychuckie    Did you get the usual email about winning a prize ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Yes - but only for the prizes they paid out on the 7th...  so again, all accounted for.
Certainly no extra email for the £25 received on the 17th.

I'll give it some time in case it is some sort of 'late prize' (with no notification), and then I'm in 2 minds about whether I should contact them. I'm curious, but if its a mistake, they might ask for it back.
  • Have you maybe breached the £50K limit with recent prize earnings or with additional purchase of bonds? If so they will (I understand) pay out the amount over the limit to your nominated bank account when picked up by their computer.

    This month, I won 4 x £25, my child 3 x £25.

Must be a lucky family .

On the maximum £50K holding , on average you should win 3 X £25 per every two months .

I think I got 4 x £25 wins one month but other months I've won nothing. I think my average was above what the premium bonds calculator would have predicted last year but now it's dropped below it.

I had a £25 in Dec that did not  (and still does not) show in my record and no email confirmation at the time but an email couple of weeks later which basically said an error was being rectified.
