Morning all not a good start before the big storm the renderer is ill so won't be here till Monday and i have been collecting guttering plastic piping from the road beside the house so we now have no down pipes for the gutters great . DH will need to come home early to move some bits on the scaffolding before tonight just feeling a bit fed up seems like one step forward and 20 back oh well. I will be doing the last of the 3 beds today i may go shopping later but if i dont its not a problem

Oh, Bella, I'm sorry about your guttering. It's only the weather to blame but it's so frustrating for you. 🌺
There's been a mix up with the manufacturer which is making my two sofas. The short version is - I ordered one sofa and a matching sofa bed. Had a little rethink the next day and cancelled the sofa bed whilst ordering a second sofa. Manufacturer mistakenly cancelled the whole of the first order and the third sofa is now ready for dispatching to me. 😱 John Lewis found out this problem a little while ago and have ordered a fourth one. This morning JL phoned to say that they have asked the manufacturer to fast track the new order whilst they will hold onto the one they have and deliver them both together. Did you keep up with all that muddle?I'm disappointed, however I'm not in a rush and after the last two years am much more tolerant and understanding. I'm not sitting on the floor so it could be worse. Annoyingly, I had dropped off to sleep again when JL phoned, something I'd not done in years. Now the moment is lost. 😀
Right, off to set up the new router.15 -

Hi everyone,
I'm having a more leisurely start to the day today, yesterday I was up early with Esben to give Laura a break. Plus I'm aching a bit, probably from chasing round the park after Esben, he loves it and there are lots of things for him to climb on etc but some of the bigger things we have to jump him round and he's getting to be quite a weight, despite having no fat on him. He was at his loveliest yesterday, after the day before being tantrum central, I seem to remember that being the case with my two.
Today I want to carry on sorting the dining and sewing rooms, I had to stop while Steve's sister was here and am finding it a bit difficult to motivate myself again. Steve's gone golfing, I wonder how many balls he'll lose in this weather. I hope it goes awat by Monday because we're heading up to TA country again.
Have a good day.14 -
Morning all, well we have sunshine after yesterday's mini storm but as RedRuby says, it seems we're "in for it" later here in Wales. I have been watching the antics of squirrel v cat this morning, again the squirrel won, when will the cat learn that he (she) is on a hiding to nothing 😂
Today I will hoover and dust down stairs the starting in the living room, then kitchen and on through the dining room to the hall. I want to at least to look like I've cleaned the house if something should happen to me while we're away 😄 Why do I feel I have do this every time we go on hols ? I think I'm turning into my Mum 😁 This afternoon we shall start packing, I need to keep an eye on what Mr Fix It tries to pack as he's liable to try to take everything for a week up mount Everest ! It's easier packing for the van as it's automatic by now, but a boat is an unknown.
I shall ring Dad tonight, his car passed the MOT and we sorted the tax yesterday, so he went home happy and with a full tummy. It's the anniversary of Mum's passing, 8 years today, and I want to make sure he's ok. Dad's only advice is to spray every thing with WD40 too, and that's everything he knows about DIY, he's a " You don't want to do it like that " but then can offer no help whatsoever, except gardening tips, he's a whizz at that 😂 Our meal tonight will be bacon, eggs etc so an easy tea.
Nelski I too laughed about the phone call with your Mum. Dad sometimes rings and says are you home ? Well yes we must be as we're here answering your call on the home phone 🤣
Coxy fingers crossed about your job
TA hope the legs are feeling better today.
Gers Hope you get your correct order soon.
Bella sorry about the damage and I hope the builders can come back asap. Ours was supposed to be here this week to cap and render the new walls but I think the weather has put them off, no calls though. Their work is fine but the admin is very slap dash. Personally I'm not bothered if they don't return for a while, it's only aesthetics, the heavy work is finished and the drive is useable so I'm enjoying the peace and no mud !
Take care all, stay safe if you get the storm again.

Snoozer - taking things easy is the way to go when there are toddlers in your life.Nan - thinking about your and your beloved Mum, the loss never goes away, 🌹It's very windy and bright just now, not sure how long it'll last. Given that I've taken a photo out of my living room window, I wanted to show the beautiful daffodils and the 'everlasting' alstroemerias, they make me smile every day. The sheep came back after hiding from the storm, an added bonus!16

Nanny, my condolences on your mother's anniversary. It was 9 years on Tuesday since dad died and I've been finding myself thinking about it a lot the last few days. Sadly, the overwhelming memory atm is the last few weeks, how he really didn't feel ready to die and how he fought it to the last. The poem that includes "Rage, rage against the dying of the light" could have been written for him. Hopefully, those memories will eventually fade in favour of more pleasant ones.
Mum died 11 months later and the contrast was stark, she wanted to go and slipped peacefully away.12 -
Morning all, bit of struggle to get up the last couple of days, everythings a bit creaky lately. Off to OHs mums for tea tonight, OHs s/dad will pick us up on his way home from work. Still no car. Well that was a bit windy yesterday, hope you all get through the next couple of days with no extreme results. It is sunny here though, but still windy. I made a pie filling last night with the skirt instead of pasties so I'll make that for tomorrow night and all the Christmas tangerines [ bought for OH but he hasn't eaten them] will be turned into tangerine marmalade which I will and OHs s/dad will eat. Going to go to the community larder and see if they have any oranges to bulk it out a bit. Breakfast today was last nights leftover pesto pasta. The parcelI sent to Spain was returned so all the sauces are in the cupboards but unfortunately the mince pies had to go being so far out of date. The insides would have been ok but the pastry was at least two months old so I didn't fancy trying them. Blummin shame. Right, better stir myself to shower and dress.Nan, anniversaries are always a hard time, hope you're taking it easy and good luck with boat packing, hope you're not going anywhere stormy on a boat...Gers, gosh, what a palaver. Bella, same for you, what a rigmarole, nothing ever seems to go simply and easily. Camelot, nice of him to do that even if it meant extra work for you
Nelski, I did laugh at your mother phoning.. Thinking of you all affected by this weather, hope your power stays on! Take care all.

I'm sorry that your Dad had such a tough time.New router set up, now I need to connect Alexa to it and am having difficulty finding the instructions for doing it. Onward...

Gers - lovely photo
It's alternating between rain and lovely sunshine here - I got soaked walking back up the hill from mam and dads.
Whatever the problem was with Audible must have been fixed as it downloaded his new books no problem this morning.
DD and little one rang while I was there so we could watch her bungee jumping - my mam was fascinated that she could see her. Little one just thinks it's normal that you can see people as well as hear them on your phone. She was full of beans and announced 'I have a boyfriend...I was holding his hand at the dancing!'
I had a phone appointment with a doctor this morning - he has given me a different migraine tablet to try - however Boots haven't got any! The pharmacist said they should get them tomorrow.
Going to get some jobs done x
