Purchased on OnBuy, seller bought product on Amazon

I avoid buying stuff from Amazon (don’t judge me) but in this instance I wanted to buy a toy that my son had seen at a friend’s house. I couldn’t find it anywhere I usually shop, and I checked the different options with Trust Pilot. OnBuy was significantly more expensive but seemed reputable. I paid using PayPal to process my credit card - not logging into my account.
When the toy arrived it came as a gift from Amazon (with a gift receipt). Is there anything I can do about this? It’s clear what has happened, but who could I complain to?
Also, the credit card I used for the transaction was flagged for a fraudulent transaction this morning (it’s still in my possession) but I don’t know if they could have harvested my number from PayPal- perhaps just a coincidence.
Any advice most welcome!

What do you want to complain about, if you've received the item you paid for? How they get it to you doesn't affect your consumer rights.9

There is nothing to complain about. You bought on a platform that will use various fulfilment methods including drop shipping from Amazon. You need to buy directly from a retailer and not use a marketplace platform if you want to avoid any chance of using Amazon. The seller / platform would have no access to your card details through Paypal.2

You are just as likely to have an John Lewis or Apple purchase flagged as possible fraud as any other sites 👍Life in the slow lane0 -

On what basis would you be complaining? Just because you don't want to purchase from Amazon it doesn't mean the person supplying you can't, unless you specifically informed them that you will only purchase on that basis. As the purchase is covered by the distance selling regs you can return it.

Just bought an item from this site advertised at £71. By the time I authorised payment through Paypal it was £79. Have messaged them asking for an explanation. Will post again when I have received my item and explanation.0

If the latter, why did you proceed if you weren't happy with the price?1 -

If the final price was higher than you expected, why did you authorise it?
