Hi all
Busy day at work for me - using a new system which was clearly designed by someone who'd never done the job - plenty of naughty words uttered all day, just as well I'm still working from home.
Funny day weather wise, veered from bright sun and blue skies to heavy rain and back again a few times. Still, better than the forecast which is stormy tomorrow and Thursday and then heavy snow on Friday. I remember when Feb used to be an OK month, seems to be the worst now for weather.....
Did the supermarket shop at lunchtime. Usually go on a Wednesday but wont risk it tomorrow if it's stormy. Similarly, it's bin day but I'm not putting the recycling bin out, it'll blow down in the wind and 'Ill end up chasing bottles and boxes round the street - not my idea of fun
Hope everyone had a good Tuesday

ETA: Oh Gers, isn't it annoying when you know what the problem is but no-one listens to you. I bet the BT chap is just as fed up as you are. Hope they don't take too long sending you a new one.Yes, he was! He'd been sent to about 10 other properties with the same problem caused by the lightning strike. It's such a waste of time for everyone.Csarina - it's not the fault of this board that your post was taken down. The fault probably lies with the board guides who misinterpreted it, perhaps. It was an interesting account of your day away. The weather got much worse this afternoon, not nice and I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. I had some really tasty venison casserole out of the freezer along with piles of broccoli, cauliflower and sprouts. There's enough of the venison left for another day. I also roasted some red and yellow peppers with onion and garlic, it's my favourite accompaniment for food, especially when it's heavy on the garlic.11 -
Don't leave Csarina. This type of thing really annoys me. Of course the mods need to keep an eye on posts. Noone likes to see foul or abusive words on a forum. However I'm a retired primary school teacher. Each day we'd have a quiet time. It was a modern open plan department six bays two to each year , a teacher in each bay and a big open plan area for messy play- painting , playdough and lots of other things not messy.Quiet time followed that as the teacher would read to the class from the current book. Sometimes a book the children would take home to read aloud at home. Whoever was listening would sign to say they had read a few pages or maybe a little more.In our house there were lots of Ladybird books.Same in school. I and others told the sotry of the boy and his cat who went to London and one day he became Mayor of London. He was not called Richard in that Book. The sky didn't fall, parents didn't complain about the title of that book.I imagine has triggered the swear filter rather than the post being reported.Prior to teaching I worked for a while in the then Inland Revenue. Many men there were known by the name , neighbours , relatives and others. In the original tv "Down to Earth" series and the big following book. He was referred at times by his full name and at others the shorter version.I never took to the Chateau but Down to Earth changed many peoples mindsets.I was already an environmentalist but he and his first wife did a massive job showing many there was a different and better way to live.Sorry for the long post but you've been on the forums a long time. Good times and bad. Now isn't the time to give up. Things have been strange and often out of our comfort zone but I've found OS a great help over the last couple of years. Some sad times but a lot of positivity.Beautiful quilt Snoozer. Log cabin is my favourite patchwork and I used to use up leftover plain and some pretty fabrics making smaller things.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
