O/S Daily Tuesday 15 February 2022
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air feels warmer than yesterday - rain forecast again today though.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/rice - tonight will be chicken, sausages or LO's - so plenty of choice.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad, found out that person off sick is still going to be off sick so I'm still covering different aspects of that job.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Yesterday was an ok day, but I seemed to be out a lot in the rain, I went out to pay some money into the bank, and airmail a birthday card to Oz. I had a quick look round the charity shops while I was out, didn't buy, though I was tempted by a N*xt top in one of them. Then I was out in the afternoon collecting Dgd from school after a quick supermarket visit. There's not much happening today, I could do with emptying the dresser in the living room, tidying and cleaning, then replacing everything. I don't mind jobs like that as long as I can stick at it with no interruptions. There's too much stuff in there to leave it out, lying around.Hoping everyone has a good Tuesday, take care folks.15

Morning all, thanks for starting us off nmlc. I hope that work is OK for you.The highlight of yesterday was having the place deep cleaned. 😀 The two women (mother and daughter) worked like trojans to do all the things which needed attention and my regular cleaner doesn't do. Bed was moved out, chest of drawers and sofas too, the tops of ceiling lampshades vacuumed, cobwebs removed, skirtings washed down and so on. They didn't have time to do the bathroom / kitchen / utility rooms but they are thoroughly done each time by my regular cleaner so didn't need it. At last I can stop fretting about it. Now to put everything back in place. My ash vacuum is broken, really broken so I've ordered a replacement, can't be doing without one.Later on I fixed draught excluder foam strips to the bathroom and front bedroom windows. They are fairly new sash windows and double-glazed, it's just a one side that there's a tiny gap. The windows have to be able to open horizontally as a fire escape route so it's where they hinge that the problem is, I can feel the wind whilst in bed. As two storms are due between tomorrow afternoon and Sunday the job was urgent.Overnight the rains battered the place again along with blustery winds, timely work on the windows. 😀 All seems calm now, a breathing space before the next onslaught. This morning I'm expecting an Openreach engineer to repair my broadband. The time slot is between 8.00am and 1.00pm so I need to be ready in case he / she turns up early though I doubt it. I'll fill my waiting time sorting out drawers. Happy days. 😀
In the afternoon I'm hoping for some sloth-time. I'm ready for the storms, food in the fridge, logs in the big bucket though I'll bring more in today.I'm looking forward to reading about everyone else's plans and escapades, they keep me cheery.TA - when's your birthday? Hope we haven't missed it.Hugs to our poorlies, Marie, Poppy and Nan especially. Happy Tuesday to everyone.14 -

Morning folks and thanks NMLC for the new Daily. The calm before the storm here. A bit drizzly but no strong wind - yet! We might even see a bit of sun later!
GERS not till March! NAN nice to have you back with us but sad that you haven't been well. Chin up lovely lady.
A pleasant little surprise yesterday afternoon! DD and the girls popped in after school with a Valentines card and a box of chocs for me! DD took away a bag of books that I knew I would never read. There is a big bookcase where she works and there is a good turnaround of donated paperbacks.
Yay it's Tuesday so coffee and lunch meet up with DF (I wonder which menu will win today!) Afterwards I need to pick up my shipping order of meds. I have changed back to B**ts pharmacy as the one up here is so sackless I have given up on him. Last time he said the tablets I take for my leg pain were not available anywhere so I would have to do without - and that was that!! I'll see if B**ts have better luck obtaining them! They don't do much good really but I tell myself they do just in case I am worse without them! Oh the joys of getting old!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, poorly loved ones and fed up. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning All
The weather yesterday was glorious, clear blue skies and sunshine although the wind was quite chilly. I had a walk down to the recycling point and then along to the wool shop. Met my neighbours on the way so had a good chat. The weather isn't so good today so will probably stay in and get some jobs done. Half term here, tomorrow is an in-service day but we are working from home.
DD's car was collected for it's MOT yesterday, whilst it was parked up waiting a car from a nearby petrol station rolled down a slope and hit her car, lots of damage all down one side but no-one hurt - cars can be fixed easier than people. The chap who's pick-up rolled away has admitted he was at fault, he hadn't put his handbrake on and it wasn't in gear.
I wafted the feather duster about yesterday so all the light fittings are free from cobwebs, chap came to look at the oven and will order a new fan motor, need to phone later today to see how much it will be.
White wash to go on once I've had a shower, DW doing it's stuff just now.
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX13 -

Good morning,
Dreadful weather here, pouring down with rain 🌧 and blowing a gale 🌬 definitely a day for staying indoors.
As ever there's plenty to do, more painting and the downstairs needs cleaning. I wish once rooms were clean they would stay that way, but with 2 cats 🐈 😻 that's never going to happen.
If by any chance it does stop raining I'll go for a walk 🚶♀️
Take care everyone 🌻13 -
Morning everyone
Yesterday afternoon turned out lovely here - I managed to get some washing almost dry outside before the rain started again. This morning it's pouring, but meant to cheer up again later - we'll see.
I'm going to get my hair cut this afternoon - looking forward to looking 'normal' again! I usually have it very short and cut every 6 weeks or so but I've had to cancel twice since I've been ill. I have a prescription to collect from Boots so will do that while I'm in town.
Also a library card for my dad - I was reading about Borrowbox - does anyone use it for audio books? He needs a library card to sign up but I'm hoping he can manage to use it as he has to keep buying extra credits from Audible as he only gets 2 a month. It depends how easy it is to use as he is finding his laptop a lot more difficult now.
I'm not looking forward to these next 2 storms - hope my new fence stays up!
Oh I love a fishfinger sandwich - often have one for my lunch on a Sunday.
DD and little one arrived safely in Skegness - she says Butlins is far busier than she expected though some places will be on half term already. They have a full schedule planned for today - the highlight is meeting Peppa Pig later! Little one was so excited when they phoned yesterday.
Well I'm going to do my ironing and tidy up a bit.
Hope everyone has a good day today. take care x12 -

I hope that it can be repaired in quick order and you're not without a car.The bright sunshine has given way to grey clouds and a heavy mist of sleet and rain. I've been out to fill a bag of logs so I'm stocked up inside. It's not really cold yet so I'll hold off on lighting the stove, it really needs to be cleaned out first but the new vacuum isn't coming until tomorrow. I'll be cosy enough with the heated throw I hope.Bella - having a deep clean is so worth it, even whilst work is going on, and especially if the work is delayed. I feel so much 'lighter' somehow.Four weeks ago I bought myself a bunch of Alstroemeria, they are still going strong. I change the water and cut bits off the bottom of the stems and still they are open and beautiful. I've also got a wee bunch of daffodils which are such a joy, they don't last too long but give an enormous amount of pleasure.Still no OR engineer.14
