Our dryer has stopped drying and the washing machine makes a racket. Both are 10+ years old.
looking at reviews is making my head hurt.
current brands are Bosch washing machine and zanussi dryer. Ideally want at least 8kg.
we are considering a heat pump rather than a condenser due to rising electric costs and they seem to be on constantly.
miele are beyond our price point. Looked at Bosch and Samsung on goodhouse keeping.
any experts recommendations?

Are Hisense worth a punt or steer clear?
Over the years I’ve changed belts and rubbers on both machines so don’t mind small fixes.
ideally delivery this week.

Telegraph had a good article on them. DD considered one but went for separate units with condenser dryer on top of washing MC. Is that possible for you?

I don't think the op is considering a washer dryer. Separates all the way!
If supply availability is anything like it was last year, one of the biggest factors will be which models are actually available rather than which is best!3 -
Thanks for the comments so far, we are after separate wasing machine and dryer and no Wi-Fi in our lives for these items.0

I have had many different brands over the years, and last year I bought Samsung washer and dryer, both 9kg. I have to say so far they are the best i have ever had2

We bought a Samsung series 5 ecobubble 9kg 1400rpm washing machine last year and very happy so far. It’s very quiet. Added bonus of no wi-fi capability. Sister coincidentally bought same one and also happy.
would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

There's definitely no 'a' in 'definitely'.1 -
My parents always have hotpoint washing machines and tumble driers and have lasted years and recommend them. We have had a Hoover washing machine for 2 years and not had any issues (yet)1

Low price and long guarantee, the name on the front doesn't matter.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.2

for the price beko or bush
You can get a heat pump tumble dryer and cheap washing machine that should last a while1 -
Most of these products are made in 3 or 4 factories in China or Turkey. It doesn't really matter what brand you choose.1

Samsung Ecobubble here as well and so far I'm happy. Only drawback is that it can become unbalanced if it isn't full enough, or if an item holds too much water and becomes too heavy (eg a blanket), and in this case it will not spin.
As for tumble dryers, we were advised to go as simple as possible as there is less to go wrong. We were advised against heat pumps as they are the most common part that fails and can be the cost of a new machine to fix. We went with a Beko condenser and happy so far0
