Hello all. Hope your day is going well.
Before I left the house at 7.30 this morning, I washed and dressed (obviously), had breakfast, walked the dogs (the sunrise was beautiful), put first wash load in machine, dusted the living room and mopped the downstairs floor.I have filled the car with petrol, been to the dentist, been out with DH and finished my main council work and have given notice of my resignation.
Now I can begin to concentrate on grandma duties and hobbies as I wind down ahead of the May elections.Very smiley here.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Jazee said:dressed (obviously),
you can never guarantee that any more.. so many lazies think it is ok to go shopping or walk about the streets in pjs and dressing gowns! We have had texts and letters from school asking that parents take and collect their children wearing suitable clothing not nightwear.
listed 1 item for sale and found some more to fling.
filled half a binbag of rubbish and half binbag of CS .. 2.5 binbags of rubbish and 1.5 binbags for CS out of my room so far!
Pile of clothes folded and added to my chairdrobe.
Found some bedding to put away and started filling another carrier for DD1.. FLING!A load of washing brought downclean duvet hung up to dry and the WM refilled.
TD needs emptying so I can refill it.
I have a few more things to remove from a box and I can start filling said box with stuff to consider for selling/CS.
It is actually starting to feel like progress and because I am doing such small sections each day it is taking forever but I can survive it.. if it is put back tidy it has to be better.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -

Piggers, that definitely IS progress, no matter how small the steps are. 2 teaspoons earmarked for flingage here - my steps could hardly be smaller!
Previous list nearly done, the kitchen drawer will have to wait as motivation to sort it seems to have run out. Instead, I spent half an hour on the phone talking to a friend. We so very nearly lost our friendship due to lack of communication, the virus etc etc, that we are pulling it back from there and making an effort. It’s good to chat with someone who knows you inside out, I have to remember that.
Some cooking prep is lined up for this afternoon to make the week easier - broccoli soup from the stems with a lurking remnant of blue cheese, and a veggie moussaka for later in the week. I will also make pastry for the turkey pie, so the frozen pastry can live to fight another day when I don’t have time and / or inclination.9 -
It beggars belief that people have to be reminded that night wear is for bed!
Dogs have had another walk. About to put second wash on airer and another load in machine.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
... skids in, late as usual. Soz.Dizzy, that life sounds ideal, so I hope you're planning how to move from this life to that one. Jazee, I'm sorry you haven't enjoyed the Council work enough to continue but I can see why anyone finds it wearing.Slowly nibbling away at sorting small areas, one a day here, which is lovely because very gradually things are getting better without me having to turn a whole room upside down to make progress. No matter how small a space I can always find some rubbish in it, and stuff that belongs elsewhere - ie where I'd look first for it. The 5 minute a day cleaning thing is working so that I no longer feel I should be doing it all the time. I've added getting rid of five bits of paper every day to the list of dailies so that I no longer feel I should be doing .... ditto to everything. Putting limits on what I expect of myself is having a great deal more success than struggling to get everything done now, today, this minute when I never had the energy to do that in the first place but thought I should.Lodger shower room thoroughly cleaned yesterday, our bathroom getting quite a bit of attention here and there, a few minutes at a time while I'm in there anyway today.Layla trundled in the rain and some time spent scent training but she really doesn't understand the basic idea of a command. It seemed to her that she was just being given lots of chicken with me behaving very oddly, I think.A decision made about a former good friend who is now behaving so unpleasantly and aggressively over something that happened five years ago that was nothing to do with Belovéd and I that I can't keep thinking things will get better any more. Sad, but enough's enough. There are times when one has to let go of stuff and people, hard though it is.Better is good enough.9

Hellloooo!
Just awoken from my beauty sleep and double checked I'm not on shift now until Saturday night, so my de-cluttering and sorting plans for this week can begin! Like many of you ladies, I'm starting with baby steps, although I do currently have an 8yard skip in the paddock to fill
Firstly though, I've loaded the DW, started a pie filling with some steak and red wine (contemplating making a suet crust, although I do have puff pastry in the freezer, so might not). Checked bank account *cry* and have gone through the freezers to make a list of all available protein sources to meal plan...when I say protein sources, I obviously mean meat as OH has a meltdown if only served a vegetarian meal...*rolls eyes*
That has pretty much exhausted me as Covid is still clutching at my lungs, despite testing negative now, so I've shut the laundry room door, after kicking all the dirty football kit, pants and wet towels in and am now having a nice cup of tea.
I'm gathering courage to list some items on eBay, oh, and made a vet appointment to take collie pups for their first jabs tomorrow, which means I need to microchip them tonight (after a bath, as they're caked in mud).
