I just realised - although I was querying a post on this thread, in doing so I seem to have 'hijacked' it - I do apologise.

And I just discovered reading through another thread, before coming back here, that they would only get their silly inflated costs if I behaved 'unreasonably'...phew.

At what point are they discontinued?
When do we find out? On the day of the hearing? On the call?
What's the latest?  This is not to be paid, remember.

Just an update… I’ve not heard anything since the last letter in March. Is there a deadline where I can feel safe that they have dropped the case and just not made me aware or can they still write to me in a years time out of the blue and say I still owe x amount?

If the parking charge was incurred in 2022, you can 'feel safe' in 2028 when it becomes 'statute barred'.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yes they can, so make sure if you move house within 6 years that you email your new address to their data protection officer email (in SIP's privacy page).

You do not want to miss seeing the letters and can't risk them writing to an old address, in case it goes to a court claim. But don't worry about it. Sit tight.

Also - really important - please come back and do the Public Consultation!

You and all PPC victims on this forum are needed, read this and the link:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6345732/secure-parking-solutions-ntk/p6

Please don't miss out. The PPC gravy train will only be over by next year, if enough real people respond robustly.

This final Consultation is likely to be open within weeks (last year's was in August) and it really is the very last chance to stop the greedy industry from blocking and bullying the Government as well as individuals.

So I’ve been sitting tight since my last post and a couple of days ago recieved another dreaded letter from SIP. This is a “letter before claim” they are giving me 30 days to pay the fine or taking legal action. Do I need to respond to this letter?

    It's not a fine.

LBC stage is covered in the second post of the NEWBIES thread, although as SIP aren't using a solicitor, there's no need to call them 'your client' in the reply, of course!

Hi, hoping I can have a little more help. I am using the NEWBIE thread to try and guide me but today I have received a county court letter. I am going to submit my defence today, I will post a draft in here once I have completed but does anyone have any tips before I start? Thanks

DO NOT submit your defence today!

Do not complete the AoS until day 6 from the issue date of the claim.

What is the issue date of the court claim?

Follow the guide to court written by bargepole that you will find in the second post of the NEWBIES in conjunction with the 12 step guide contained within the template defence thread.

Use the ready written defence from the template defence thread. You only need to amend paragraphs 2 and 3.

Post it here BEFORE you submit it, and please, only post the parts you have changed.

    Thank you.
I will wait until Thursday until I submit, I did read that after posting. Out of curiosity what is the reasoning behind waiting until after day 6?
