It's quite old, it's a Nokia but I think I used it originally with a 3 mob SIM, then found when I gave it away to use as a spare it also worked with my mums old vodaphone SIM so I kept it going with that one. I presume it would still work for both.Farway said:elsien said:Asda used to piggyback off Vodafone so you wouldn’t need to unlock, unless that’s changed since I last used them. No, not changed, I'm with Asda. Asda are still the same as Vodafone so there’s no reason that it wouldn’t work.NE5 said:

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

NO, unless it's changed it comes with "free" 50p credit loaded

Last 2 Asda mobile SIMs I used (both in last month) came with no credit. £5 minimum top up was required.

Did those Asda SIMs arrive activated? Would you need credit to see some indication of signal strength?k_man said:Last 2 Asda mobile SIMs I used (both in last month) came with no credit. £5 minimum top up was required.0 -
Signal strength showed immediately, without activation. Data didn't work until credit was added.
Not sure if incoming call worked (which would be a good signal test, as strength is just an indicator).
I think I have another new SIM to test. Will report back0 -
this means you can buy an Asda SIM from the store, put it in, and if it reads the SIM put money on it knowing it will work ? Is this right ?0

            Think that's right, yes.
Shop-bought Asda SIM costs 50p (cf free if ordered online). Struggling to remember but think this is the 50p credit that was mentioned by @Farway above. Seem to recall that the sim had to be registered to get the credit (? @k_man). Also, shop-bought SIM included top-up card (since Asda don't support voucher top-up).1
